Regional Sales Managers 
 
Locations: Nairobi East, Nairobi West, North-Rift, South-Rift, Coast, Central (2) and Western (2)

Our client, a leader in the broadcast media sector, seeks to appoint suitably qualified & dedicated individuals to assume the responsibility of Regional Sales Managers. 

The successful candidates will report to the Sales Manager, and will be responsible for the overall coordination of sales and distribution activities of the business in the region.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Distribution and Area Management by implementing and adopting – Implementation and adoption of effective distribution strategy to grow sales within the assigned Area zone.
  • Sales Targets – Ensure achievement of set sales targets i.e. monthly, quarterly, semi-annually or annually.
  • Development of sales programs – Prepare, plan and execute Area zonal/Area zone sales programs aimed at market penetration, relationship building, share growth e.g. Sales promotions, Road shows etc
  • Routines and Processes – Ensure internal collaboration ,team work development and implementation of key Management and  sales routines
  • New Outlets -Achieve active Company M&P base.
  • Brand Management
  • Ensure that all Channel Partners and the Retail Trade in the assigned Area zone adhere and adopt to set company standards.
  • Support Attainment and compliance to the company branding/merchandising standards for Channel Partners in the Area zone.
  • Attainment of the visibility and overall branding targets for the Retail trade in the Area zone
  • Implementation of Channel specific Merchandising  and activation  in the trade
  • People management – To effectively manage staff and resources allocated within the Area zone through effective monitoring of performance and by providing support to the Territory Sales Executive initiatives.
  • Stakeholder management.
  • Preparation of sales and marketing plans, budgets and their implementation. Running of the Area sales office as a profit centre
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelors Degree in business marketing, sales or any business related field
  • A professional qualification from CIM
  • Masters Degree in a business related field is an added advantage
  • Knowledge of the dynamics of consumer and business sectors across markets
  • Valid driving license with not less than 3 years’ experience
  • At least 5 years hands on experience in a Sales Distribution management in FMCG or service sector, of which 2 years must have been in a sales managerial position with an excellent track record of results achievement.
  • Key knowledge areas include Sales and distribution management, Retail market knowledge, Pay television industry/ market knowledge, Market  & Customer Knowledge, Commercial knowledge, Financial understanding and Marketing Knowledge

National Sales Manager

The successful candidate will report to the General Manager, and will be responsible for the execution of the sales strategy aimed at increasing the market share and overall profitability of the organization, in line with the business strategic and tactical objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Build and maintain strong working relationships with new and distribution channels.

2. Ensure all relevant internal and external stakeholders receive all pertinent communications.
 
3. Develop and coach sales supervisors and team leaders to meet or exceed specific goals for profitable revenue growth.
  • Work with the HR team to develop a training schedule.
4. Monitor, analyze sales and market trends.
  • Compile forecasts of stock distribution based on customer demands.
  • Proactively analyze customer needs and make appropriate recommendations for improving the overall sales approach.
5. Prepare a monthly Sales Report showing the sales performance against budgets and provide appropriate comments on variances.
 
6. Identify and address sales gaps.
 
7. Source leads for the sales teams. 

8. Create an enthusiastic and successful sales environment focusing on thinking outside the box and challenging the norm in business.
 
9. Develop annual sales plans for increase of market share and profitability on sustainable basis in line with the company Business Plan.
 
10. Use the latest Sales techniques &  tools to manage the delivery of the sales team
 
11. Plan and implement local sales promotion in consultation with marketing.
 
12. Ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures. Responsible to conduct and ensure subordinates conduct themselves in a manner consistent with company mission values of ethics policies and other standard of conduct. 
 
13. Undertake physical visits/ travels to upcountry towns to assess the performance of our sales channels and the markets.
 
14. Daily review of sales team activities
 
15. Monthly review and reporting of sales team activities.


Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in business marketing, sales or any business related field
  • Professional qualification from CIM will be an added advantage
  • Masters Degree in business related field will be an added advantage
  • At least 5 years Sales management experience with an excellent track record of results achievement.
  • Experience selling in FMCG/Telcos Sector or Pay TV will be an added advantage
  • Experience in writing, coordinating and producing competitive sales proposals.
  • Valid clean Driving License with not less than 3 years’ experience.

Retention Manager

The successful candidate will report to the General Manager, and will be responsible for the overseeing all aspects of the business’ retention of subscribers through the development of an overall retention strategy for business growth and overall coordination, functional management and leadership of all retention activities of the business.

Key Responsibilities:
 
1. Responsible for the overall functional management and leadership of all retention activities of the business which includes:
  • Research and analysis of global best practice on customer retention strategies
  • Design and implementation of a customer retention strategy
  • Alignment of customer retention strategies to the business strategy
  • Owning and driving individual product retention targets
  • Design and  implementation of a customer loyalty program
  • Ensuring optimal organizational structure and resource allocation to support successful rollout of customer retention strategies across the business
2. Design and implement Information management policies that cover:
  • Full understanding and manipulation of the subscriber databases
  • Identification of subscriber niches
  • Identification and implementation of necessary information e.g. FAQ’s
3. Drive analytics based reporting on all metrics which includes:
  • Management of trend analysis and opportunity identification
  • Improvement of retention effectiveness
  • Interpretation of key sales drivers, trends and issues
  •  Continuous analysis of system generated communication to subscribers e.g. SMS’s
4. Stakeholder Management which includes:
  • Facilitation of awareness and information sessions to all stakeholders ensuring effective communication and dissemination of all retention related information
  • Implementation and post evaluation of inbound and outbound campaigns (Head-office and regions)
  • Working with all business units and relevant corporate divisions in rolling out the customer retention strategy

Marketing Assistant

The successful candidate will report to the Marketing Manager, and will assist with the implementation of marketing campaigns and provide support to the PR team when required to ensure all campaigns run efficiently and according to plan.

Key Responsibilities:
 
1. Assist the Marketing Manager and other senior staff members with the management of marketing campaigns and initiatives.
 

2. Continuously seek out innovative way to improve the brand of the organization and increase subscriber loyalty.
 
3. Provide administrative support to the Marketing team.
  • Manage and monitor the Point of Sales (POS) system and record storage, orders and deliveries.
  • Compile status reports of on-going and upcoming marketing campaigns and initiatives.
  • Manage and monitor the marketing and promotional material by checking and replenishing the inventory, when required and in accordance with the marketing budget.
  • Assist with budget monitoring and recording of marketing expenses.
4. Facilitate with the dissemination of pertinent information to relevant internal (e.g. Sales, Public Relations and Human Resource teams) and external (e.g. Media Agencies) stakeholders.
 
5. Liaise with agencies and production houses to ensure that campaigns and initiatives are rolled out efficiently and according to plan.
 
6. Provide support for cross departmental initiatives with the Sales, Operations and Public Relations team

  • Ensure that all external and agencies and marketing service suppliers have the correct information and information is supplied timeously.
8. Assist with the coordination of on-air campaigns to ensure the campaigns run smoothly and according to plan.

  • Ensure all invoices are paid in a timely and professional manner.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or a related field.
  • At least 2 years’ experience of working in the marketing and advertising environment.
