Del Monte Kenya is a market leader in production and marketing of premium quality foods and beverages in sub-Saharan Africa Region.
 
We are looking for self motivated, young, and energetic sales person aged between 30 to 35 years with a track record of achievement and relevant sales
and market execution experience gained in an FMCG environment, to fill the position of Export Sales Manager.

Reporting:
 Reports to the Regional Sales & Marketing Manager, Sub Saharan Africa.
 

Overall Job Purpose: To grow and expand Del Monte Branded Business in the Regional Export markets of Sub-Saharan Africa.
 

Functional Responsibilities
  • Achieve sales volumes, profit and market execution targets for Regional Export Markets.
  • Co-ordinate and co-operate with distributors to identify and expand distribution channels/networks with the view to increase availability of Del Monte products across all channels. 
  • Build and maintain excellent relationship with existing and potential new customers
  • Design, organize and execute appropriate below the line programs and activities to support distributors and trade to drive consumption of Del Monte products.
  • Undertake market research, surveys and related studies as and when requested by HQ and make appropriate recommendations on next course of action.
  • Provide input for and implementation for business plan for Regional Export Markets.
  • Market development: grow Del Monte brand equity in export by ensuring product availability in all targeted outlets, create new outlets as per the business plan, deploy trade marketing equipment, execute Del Monte picture of success and continually review route to market and recommend improvements whenever deemed necessary.
  • Distributor Management; develop and execute Annual Business Plan with major objectives of ensuring every distributor has capability efficiencies, proper outlet execution and expansion benchmarks and objectives are set and met through the execution of distributor plan.
  • Lead in product registration and renewal of the same as may be required by different market legislation
Personal Characteristics
 
The ideal candidate should meet the following requirements:-
  • Demonstrable track record of performance in Export Markets
  • Knowledge of African Market and or Customers
  • Excellent management reporting and presentation skills.
  • High cultural adaptability and flexibility and to be able to work with multicultural teams including executives based at head office.
  • A quick leaner; learning ability in order to quickly understand and adopt the organizations culture, develop internal networks and develop credibility at the senior leadership level at the Head office.
  • Excellent leadership skills and strong team player.
  • Good listener and communicator with the skills to communicate effectively across all levels, internally and externally.
  • Ability to manage work pressure effectively with strong self-awareness and sense of accountability.
  • Pleasant, results oriented, hardworking, persuasive individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills who is able to think strategically, effectively present ideas in an organized manner.
Qualifications/Skills
  • Possess a University Degree in Business, or Management from a reputable university. An MBA or relevant Masters Degree will be an added advantage.
  • At least 7-10 years in sales and marketing management position with 5 years or more at a senior role with P & L responsibility.
  • Must have experience in managing a sales and marketing team in the FMCG Sector.
  • Hands on experience in distribution channel development with good track record of channel management achievements in FMCG industry would be an essential competency.

Position: Sales Representative
 
The Job:
 Reports to the National Sales Manager.
 

Purpose: The job holder will ensure achievement of agreed set sales targets and flawless execution of Del Monte brand in the assigned territory.
Key Functions:
  • Achieve sales volume objectives as per sales targets set and agreed, Monthly, Quarterly, Annually.
  • Debt Collection – Ensure all account receivables are collected at the agreed times and that distributors operate within approved limits.
  • Ensure Del Monte products availability in all targeted outlets in the assigned territory.
  • Create new outlets as agreed with the Supervisor monthly, quarterly, annually.
  • Deploy trade marketing equipments – coolers, merchandising units, point of sale material etc.
  • Execute the Del Monte picture of success as directed by the Supervisor.
  • Gather own and competitor market intelligence and report to Supervisor weekly, monthly.
  • Build value based and strategic “win-win” relationships with Del Monte Distributors.
  • Lead Distributor training and development modules and capability building initiatives targeted at Distributor Sales team.
  • Sell the entire range of company products.
The Person:
 
The ideal candidate should meet the following requirements:-
  • Age: not more than 30years.
  • The candidates must demonstrate detailed understanding of the core sales capabilities of order generation, delivery, merchandising and account development.
  • A University degree in Commerce, Economics or Business Administration (with bias in Marketing) or an equivalent qualification.
  • At least 2 years working experience in a Fast Moving Consumer Goods environment.
  • Must also hold a clean and valid driving license with 3 years of continuous driving.
  • An individual who can demonstrate that he/she has lots of energy, drive, enthusiasm, positive mental attitude and track record of achievement.
  • Pleasant, results oriented, hardworking, persuasive individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills who is able to think strategically, and effectively present ideas in an organized manner.
