Job Vacancy: Administrative Officer 
Purpose of the position: The Administrative Officer will be responsible for maintaining day to day financial, accounting, administrative and personnel services
Scope: The Administrative Officer will be reporting to the Directors and is responsible for assisting with preparation of financial statements, maintaining cash controls, supervising payroll and personnel administration, purchasing, maintaining accounts payable and managing office operations

  • Supervise and coordinate activities of staff
  • Conduct orientation programme for new employees
  • Administer salaries and determine leave entitlements
  • Be involved in staff training and development
  • Prepare annual estimates of expenditure, maintain budgetary and inventory controls and make recommendations to management
  • Maintain management information systems (manual and computerized)
  • Locate suitable business premises and negotiate reasonable leasing agreements
  • Review and answer correspondence
  • Provide secretarial or executive services for management and committees
  • Ensure Kenya Revenue Authority returns are done in time (PAYE & TAX)
  • Ensure NSSF and NHIF payments are done in time
  • Ensure both the office and workshop are maintained in good clean status all the time
  • Ensure that the Health & Safety Policy is strictly adhered to
  • Assist the management in debt collection
  • And any other duties and responsibilities which you will be assigned by the management

The incumbent must have proficient knowledge in the following areas:
  • Computerized accounting programs
  • Accounts payable and accounts receivables
  • Generally accepted accounting principles
  • An understanding of relevant county legislation, policies & procedures
  • Administration of employee benefits
  • Preparation of financial statements
