Strategic Leader of Inclusive Education Department

In order to implement the structural change initiated by the Board of Governors, Office Bearers and the Management Committee of the OERB, the Academy is seeking a dynamic, experienced individual to support the development of our Inclusive Education Department (IED) in the Academy. 

We have 43 students on roll in our special needs provision with a wide range of needs and strengths, and ranging from 4 years old in our nursery campus to 19 years old in our Junior High campus ranging from Nursery to Junior Campus.

The position requires strategic and developmental thinking to ensure that the provision moves on and continues to provide effectively for these members of our school community. 


The position reports directly to the Director of Education and the post holder will have a wide – ranging remit for improvement and development, including the implementation of a policy of inclusion and integration that is enshrined in the department’s name.

Head of Senior Academy

Oshwal Academy is seeking to appoint a strong, dynamic leader for our Senior Academy in Nairobi, which encompasses Year 7 to Year 13 and provides education for a total of 1150 students.

The position is vacant for September 2015.

This position requires that you work with the Executive of the Academy, the Board of Governors, Office Bearers and the OERB to develop an outstanding provision for independent global citizens as they move out of secondary education and into the wider world.


As Head of Senior Academy you will be expected to support the strategic direction and development of the school and the Academy as a whole, specifically;
  • To build outstanding teaching and learning in both academic and pastoral spheres;
  • To lead and manage the staff team to drive improvement;
  • To deploy staff and resources effectively and efficiently to maximize potential;
  • To be accountable for the overall performance of the Senior Academy.

Director of Academic Development, Learning Strategy & Professional Development

Oshwal Academy is seeking to appoint an experienced and visionary individual to the above role, to work with the Director of Education to lead the strategic development and school improvement of the OERB schools in Nairobi and Mombasa. 

This is a new position. 

The role demands that you be an advocate for change, bringing the schools together into one seamless Academy and leading them to a new future with enhanced programmes and a school culture that emphasises ethics and values, pluralism, spirituality and excellence.
 

The Director of Academic Development, Learning Strategy and Professional Development (Do Ad) will oversee curriculum development and manage changes in this regard. 

They will:
  • Closely monitor the work of the Head teachers of all our campuses;
  • Align planning and development activities with the Board of Governors’ strategic plan;
  • Support the implementation of a new Performance Management policy;
  • Support the evolving pastoral structure of the schools;
  • Review the use of assessment data in all forms;
  • Support the implementation of a new MIS system and a new PR and Marketing plan.
