Job Description: Samasource is launching its first owned and operated impact sourcing center, Samasource Impact Sourcing Center (the “Center”), and is seeking a seasoned HR & Administration professional who lead the design and execution of of HR policies/procedures, talent management and development, and administrative support functions. 

In this role he/she will work with the Center management to develop and implement HR plans and solutions that achieve strategic business initiatives and deliver results. 

The work includes, but is not limited to, growing workforce competencies, providing change leadership, talent management / succession planning, recruiting, and supporting day-to-day operations as well as on-going process improvement. 

On an operational level, this position will be responsible for supervising staff; and planning, organizing, and implementing administrative systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Partner with Center Management on workforce planning, succession planning, and skills assessment
  • Design and execute an efficient and effective recruitment process which employs highly motivated and capable staff, while supporting the fluid capacity and capability requirements of the organization 
  • Plan, manage and provide continuous improvement to both annual and mid-year processes which focus on performance management and talent development
  • Partner with managers to retain, motivate, and mentor employees to support career development
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and execution through participation and consultation with employees and management to ensure continuity of productive working relationships across the organization
  • Review and analyze business unit data to identify trends and recommend solutions to improve performance, retention, and employee experience
  • Oversee planning and development of incentive programs, salary scales, promotions, job re-leveling.  
  • Testing and building a robust incentive program will be critical to achieve certain client SLAs.
  • Monitor and analyze employee performance and satisfaction, conduct analyses for issues identified, and develop and implement recommendations for improvement
  • Design, implement, and monitor corporate policies and procedures with a keen focus on continuous improvement 
  • Administer occupational health, staff safety, and wellness programs
  • Mediate all types of employee relations issues ensuring a balance in representing all parties interests
  • Represent organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations. Ensure effective implementation of the disciplinary and grievance procedures, as applicable
  • Maintain HR and labor law knowledge by tracking changes in Kenyan law and participating in forums that support knowledge transfer of best practices
Desired Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
  • Degree in Humanities, Sociology or a related field
  • Diploma or higher Diploma in Human Resources
  • 5+ years of experience and currently working in a Managerial HR / Senior Managerial HR level
  • Proficiency in using the Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience in the development and administration of HR compensation plans
  • Ability to analyze organization and individual needs and develop plans to meet them
  • Experience with assessing talent management, executing performance management systems, and executing staff development plans
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to organize workload to assure that short timelines are met while having frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to influence and partner with different levels of the organization to build and maintain a positive work environment
  • Strong business and HR acumen, including strong problem solving skills, critical thinking, and self-initiative
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and support direct reports and employees
  • Excellent written, verbal communication, interpersonal skills; high quality document and report preparation
  • Experience working in BPO operations
  • Experience working with people from disadvantaged backgrounds
  • At ease in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Ability to plan and manage complex administrative activities and processes
  • Strong grasp of Kenyan labor and employment laws
