Medical Representative

Reporting to the Marketing & Sales Manager, the Medical Representative will be responsible for conducting promotional activities through provision of information about Bayer HealthCare products to healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promoting the use of Bayer HealthCare products to healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain and develop Bayer HealthCare business in your assigned territory.
  • Identify and exploit new business opportunities for Bayer Healthcare in your assigned territory.
  • Ensure that all promotion activities are documented according to set standards of Bayer HealthCare.
Education and Experience
  • A degree or a diploma in either of the following; Pharmacy, Clinical Medicine and Surgery, Veterinary Medicine, Nursing or any biological Sciences qualifications from a recognized educational institution as approved by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.
  • A Pharmaceuticals Representative license from Pharmacy and Poisons Board.
  • At least two years’ experience as a Medical Representative.
  • A valid driving license.
  • Experience working in various parts of Kenya will be an added advantage.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (including presentation and communication skills).
  • Good customer relationship management skills.
  • Ability to work with little supervision and independently as well as working in a team.
  • Key opinion leader identification and development skills.
  • Key accounts management skills.
  • Ability to organize and execute continuous medical education meetings.
  • Ability to relate well with people at different levels of authority.

Key Accounts Manager - Sales

Reporting to the Regional Manager, Sales, the Key Accounts Manager is responsible for managing Bayer Healthcare key customers in Kenya, developing win-win relationships, detecting growth opportunities and realizing them, improving of tailored customer services and follow-up in order to maximize results.

Major Tasks and Responsibilities of Position
  • Support the implementation of the sales strategy including the commercial policy to help achieve the sales targets.
  • Support the implementation of strategies that will ensure improved presence of BHC product portfolio in the market
  • Develop trade marketing activities.
  • Responsibility for developing long-term productive, professional relationships with BHC key customers.
  • Liaise between customers and cross-functional internal teams to ensure the timely and successful delivery of our solutions according to customer needs, performance objectives and customers’ expectations.
  • Focusing on growing and developing existing and new customers.
  • Proactively assesses, clarifies, and validates customer needs on an ongoing basis.
  • Liaise with the Distributors, and BHC Sales & Marketing teams to ensure that all activities that the distributors engage in are in line with BHC strategy and policies.
  • Proactively collect market intelligence to keep management informed about relevant competitor activities and formulate strategies to address the same where applicable.
  • Communicate clearly the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure all activities undertaken are documented according to set standards and fully comply with IFPMA code of conduct, as well as with BHC compliance manual.
Education / Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
  • University degree from a recognized University
  • Previous experience in Account Management and marketing of pharmaceutical products or Territory Sales will be an added advantage.
  • Experience in delivering client-focused solutions based on customer needs
  • Strong account management and relationship building skills.
  • Collaborative, team-oriented, flexible
  • Highly self-motivated
  • Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Good Computer literacy
