Accountant Job in Kenya

Silverstone Tyres (K) Limited, the leading company in the automotive field based in Nairobi with branch offices at Mombasa seeks to recruit an Accountant who will be based in our Nairobi Office.

The Position will be reporting to the Chief Accountant. 

The Accountant will be In- Charge of all Accounts Payables.
Key responsibilities

Purchases
  • Confirm receipt of services or purchases against LPOs.
  • Posting of purchases invoices.
  • Prepare Payment planner for suppliers
  • Payment of all invoices
  • Manage supplier accounts – ensuring correct details of contacts, names, addresses and PIN/ VAT nos.
  • Create new approved supplier codes on the system.
  • Manage credit terms with suppliers
  • Reconciliation of creditor’s statements.
  • Managing supplier payments - Foreign & Local.
  • Maintaining the purchases ledger and ensuring that all transactions are posted.
  • Manage VAT input
Stock management on an ERP system
  • Creating Stock codes
  • Maintain re-order levels
Petty Cash Management
  • Maintaining of petty cash and impress, disbursement and reconciliation.
  • Posting of the petty cash summary journal in the general ledger.
  • Preparing a petty cash summary on a monthly basis.
Filling of all financial records
The ideal candidate will possess;
  • Bachelor of Commerce Degree (Second Class Upper) from a recognised University
  • Qualified accountant with CPA (III) is a must
  • At least a B Plain in KCSE with at least a B plain in Mathematics and English
  • 2-3 years  experience handling accounts payables in a well run company
  • Working with a computerized accounting system preferably in an ERP environment
  • Understanding of the International Financial Reporting standards and their application
  • Ability to work without supervision, keen to details and ability to work under pressure.
