Manager, Securities
1 Position
Reporting to: Head, Credit Administration and
Operations
Role: The successful candidate will be
responsible for ensuring that disbursements do not occur until required
collateral is in place, all terms and conditions have been met, and that
approved facilities are in compliance with loan collateral documentation at all
times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare offer letters and related documents in line with approved terms and conditions.
- Scrutinize and control all collateral documents competently and in accordance with the Banks policy
- Review terms and conditions of sanction and issue compliance certificates paving way for disbursements
- Maintain requisite collateral monitoring diaries and monitor the validity and expiry dates of collateral and/or related documentation
- Seek requisite approvals for deferred documentation and prepare requisite report on the same with the follow up measures taken
- Oversee maintenance and/or custody of security files
- Review reports from Internal & External Auditors and CBK and ensure that any shortcomings highlighted have been sufficiently addressed
- Liaise with and track performance of service providers such as lawyers, auctioneers, valuers, investigators
- Mentor, motivate and coach direct reports.
Position Requirements:
- University degree preferably in business related field
- Professional qualification i.e. LLB will be an added advantage
- At least 5 years’ experience in Commercial Banking
- Knowledge of credit documentation and other regulatory requirements eg CBK prudential guidelines among others
- Possess good analytical skills
- Possess good knowledge of securities and legal issues relating to lending
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing
- Strong organization and Leadership skills
- Strong problem solving and decision making skills.
Manager, Credit Control
and Monitoring
1 Position
Reporting to: Head, Credit Administration and
Operations
Role: The
successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring of the facilities and
ensuring that all the terms and conditions of facilities approved are complied
to at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor exposures and ensure that at all times such exposures are in accordance with the policy & approval terms and conditions
- Ensure that requisite approvals are in place for excesses
- Ensure that counter party information details on the system is up to date at all times
- Prepare exception reports including deferred / missing documentation, limit overdrawn, overdue revisions indicating follow up measures taken
- Maintain comprehensive Diary system to ensure all terms of sanction and other pending matters are followed up
- Review reports from Internal & External Auditors and CBK and ensure that any shortcomings highlighted have been sufficiently addressed
- Mentor, motivate and coach direct reports.
Position requirements:
- University degree preferably in business related field
- At least 5 years’ experience in Commercial Banking

Senior Recoveries Manager
1 Position
Reporting to: Head, Credit Administration and
Operations
Role: The
successful candidate will be responsible for reducing non performing loans and
overdrafts through direct recovery, restructuring and upgrades.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate recovery strategies for non performing loans
- Drive the reduction of non-performing retail loans through recovery, upgrade or restructures
- Demand and follow up of Non Performing Debts through review of files and discussions with debtors regarding their repayment proposals
- Support branches in minimizing incidences of default
- Correspond with branches, debtors and service providers
- Manage provisions within the unit’s budget
- Exercise delegated discretion relating to management of NPL loans
- Liaise with and track performance of service providers such as lawyers, auctioneers, valuers, investigators
- Manage cost through vetting service provider fees, as well as optimal utilization of resources under their control
- Report compilation tracking repayments under the Transformation Initiative.
- Mentor, motivate and coach direct reports.
Position requirements:
- University degree preferably in business related field. Professional qualification i.e. CPA, ACCA, ACIB will be an added advantage
- At least 5 years’ experience in Commercial Banking/Financial Services out of which 3 must be in Debt Recovery
- Knowledge of credit and non performing debts policies and other regulatory requirements e.g. CBK prudential guidelines among others Knowledge of basic law relating to debt recovery
- Possess good analytical skills
- Possess good knowledge of securities and legal issues relating to lending
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing
- Strong organization and Leadership skills
- Strong problem solving and decision making skills
- Strong analytical skills.
