Salary Range: 36,000.00 to 42,000.00

ACTED Kenya is looking for an experienced self-driven and a self-oriented professional to fill the post of a cashier based in Mandera County;

Reporting to the Area Finance & Admin Officer, her/his specific duties will include:
  • To perform exchanges of money if needed.
  • To perform petty cash management

His / Her Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for Advance/Loan follow up and procedure compliance at Area Level
  • Responsible for Excel Book entries according to ACTED Standard entry grid

  • Responsible for cash flow level at Area Level (safe & bank)
  • Act as a bank agent at the Area Level (Withdraw and requests)
  • Responsible for Cash Counts

Payment Procedure:
  • Responsible for payment execution at Area Level (according to ACTED payment procedures).
  • Responsible of preparing payment vouchers for approval by Area Finance Officer and Coordination before payment is processed

  • Responsible for 1st level of check of Area Voucher (monthly basis)
  • Responsible for filing all finance documents at the Area Level.
  • Perform other relevant duties.

Qualifications / Skills Required
  • Bachelor degree or a diploma in Business Administration- Accounting or Finance option
  • CPA holder is an added value
  • Previous experience as a cashier or accountant (one year minimum)
  • Knowledge about NGO will be considered an asset
  • A quick learner, Committed and attentive to details
  • Strong team player of high integrity, pleasant personality, ability to work under least supervision and meet strict deadlines.
  • Computer literate.
  • Demonstrated experience in overall responsibility and accountability for the financial management of an organization;
  • Good public Relations with strong negotiation skills.
