PATH seeks
to recruit an exceptional Finance Officer to be based in Nairobi.
The Finance
Officer will be responsible for maintaining up to date, accurate and complete
records in required formats for all financial transactions, submit monthly FOFR
(Field Office Financial Reports) to HQ, and ensure full financial supporting
documentations.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Process payment vouchers for suppliers payments, travel advance requests and other payments request.
- Track outstanding advances and follow up to ensure all are cleared on timely basis as per PATH Kenya financial policies.
- Audit all travel expense reports, workshop expense reports and any other reconciliations for authorization, accuracy, allowable expenses, charge codes and accounting for advances.
- Follow up on resolutions of all questioned items and see they are resolved in a timely manner.
- Prepare Quarterly travel reports to HQ
- Respond to IAS review notes.
- Respond on a timely basis to all suppliers’ inquiries, reconcile all the suppliers’ statements with PATH’s records and update the Finance Officer on any discrepancies.
- Respond to staff inquiries on a timely basis on any financial issues.
- Disburse all PATH Money Transfer payments and funds transfer through E-Banking.
- Responsible and custodian of PATH Kenya Bank Account cheque books.
- Carry out monthly Bank Reconciliations.
- As part of the Finance team, Identify opportunities for streamlining office processes, make recommendations to the finance team and implement changes.
- Coach, train and mentor the Finance assistant and the temporary staff.
Required Skills
- Financial Management in an INGO.
- Analytical, problem-solving skills and initiative.
- High numeracy, sound technical skills and strong attention to detail.
- Good time management skills and the ability to prioritize, works well under pressure with minimum supervision.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Able to work as part of a team and to build strong working relationships.
Required Experience
- Over 5 years work experience in an International NGO,
- Bachelor of Commerce degree from a recognized university,
- CPA (K) /ACCA ,
- proficiency in Ms Office suite and
- strong hands on experience in QuickBooks-Multi currency.
You must
currently have legal authorization to work in Kenya.
