Civil Works Supervisor

We are pleased to announce the following vacancy in the Regional Network Operations   department within Technology Division. In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below:

Reporting to the Regional Implementation Manager, the holder of the position will be in charge of the overall responsibility relating to civil works (construction changes) within existing sites, ranging from optimization to health and safety corrective measures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To design various elements of civil works or construction required on existing sites;
  • To evaluate and approve or amend designs submitted by contractors to achieve optimal civil works implementation;
  • To supervise from time to time implementation of various construction works on existing sites;
  • To ensure that all existing site infrastructure is in compliance to Safaricom’ s Health and Safety policy;
  • To generate high level dashboard reporting of all major projects in Regional Network Operations;
  • To conduct acceptance tests on optimization projects with regard to agreed checklists and standards.

Role Requirements
BSC in Civil / Construction Engineering;
2 to 3  years of work experience in civil works in the Mobile industry;
Project Management experience will be an added advantage;
Extensive knowledge of internal processes and procedures;
Proactive, analytical, confident, energetic and able to work under pressure with a positive attitude and good organization skills.

Dealer Manager

We are pleased to announce the following vacancy in the Consumer Sales Department within the Consumer Business Unit Division. In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below:

Reporting to the Senior Manager-Dealer & M-PESA Agents, the successful candidate will be responsible for meeting overall airtime revenue and acquisition targets; ensuring month to month growth, profitability and retention of successful Safaricom dealers and support Area and Territorial Management teams within the retail channel network countrywide and supporting and ensure that premium branding and merchandising standards are maintained throughout the dealer network.

The job holder’s key responsibilities will be to:
  • Formulate manage and implement effective plans for dealers managed;
  • Effectively manage the existing/newly acquired dealers in terms of quality of service provided, uptake of products and services, payments, revenue growth, provision of advisory services, delivery issues, sales process end to end and ensure compliance to contractual agreement requirements;
  • Ensure dealer outlets are maintained as per Safaricom branding standards;
  • Conduct regular business reviews and progress evaluation with each dealer;
  • Conduct DOYA as per company standards;
  • Propose new areas of development and growth for dealers managed;
  • Achievement of sales targets in terms of connections, airtime sales and generally revenue generated from the dealers;
  • Management of effective communication to dealers and internal Safaricom staff regarding ongoing activities;
  • Proactively attend to customer related issues and get an excellent customer rating;
  • Build long lasting business relations/partnership with assigned dealers;
  • Ensure that process and procedures with relation to dealers are adhered to;
  • Maintain 100% accuracy on reporting on information relevant to dealers and dissemination of the same to the dealers maintained.

The ideal candidate should possess the following:
  • A honors degree in Business Administration/Bcom etc from recognized university;
  • Must have 5 years’ experience in managing sales distribution with large accounts preferably in FMCG;
  • Strong thinker with a strong business and commercial sense;
  • Team player with pleasant outgoing personality & resilience;
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Proactive, confident, energetic & with ability to work under pressure;
  • Business acumen;
  • Understanding of marketing and sales principles;
  • Excellent business Presentation skills;
  • Business development and analysis skills;
  • Advanced selling skills.
