NGO Jobs in Kenya - AMURT

Ananda Marga Universal Relief Team (AMURT) is a local non-governmental organization whose mission is to improve the quality of life for the poor and underserved communities in Kenya.

The organization implements interventions addressing social determinants of health in ten counties across the country.

We seek to fill 7 positions for a 5-year OVC project supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to be based in Rarieda and Bondo Districts (Siaya County).

The positions and basic qualifications are as follows;

1. Project Manager

(1 Position)

Provides overall leadership and coordination of OVC project activities.

  • A University degree in Community development, public health, social work or equivalent
  • Proven field based knowledge and experience in coordinating HIV/AIDS, OVC and related programs
  • At least five (5) years experience in NGO project/program related implementation and management including staff supervision and development
  • In depth understanding of HIV/AIDs/OVC programming/debates and knowledge of networks for similar programs in the country
  • Experience managing USAID funded projects is an added advantage
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills both in English and Kiswahili

2. OVC Project Officers

(4 Positions)

  • Degree or Diploma in Community development/Social work/project management or equivalent
  • 3 years experience working in OVC/HIV projects
  • Good training and facilitation skills, analytical, report writing and presentation skills
  • In depth in understanding of M& E systems applicable OVC programming including use of OLMIS software and KePMS PEPFAR reporting system
  • Good understanding of social determinants of Health and their related interventions including Household Economic Strengthening (HES) approaches.

Highly proficient with Microsoft Office programs

3. Project Accountant / Administrator

(1 Position)

  • Minimum CPA II and/or degree from a recognized institution
  • 3 years similar work experience
  • Good leadership, interpersonal, management or administrative skills
  • Good understanding of USAID policies and compliance regulations and advantage
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office programs, QuickBooks/Sage Pastel

Logistics Officer

(1 Position)

  • Diploma in Purchasing and Supplies management
  • 3 years minimum work experience
  • Good leadership, interpersonal and management skills
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office programs
