(1) Senior Assistant Director NACECE Resource Centre (NRC)

(1) Post
The
Senior Assistant Director NACECE Resource Centre will be responsible to the
Senior Deputy Director Corporate Services.
Duties
and Responsibilities:
- Maintain
occupational standards and policies of the centre;
- Supervise staff
working in the centre ;
- Deliver
excellent customer service, at all times and ensure guests’ comfort and
safety; and customer complaints.
- Deal with all
enquiries in a professional manner;
- Keep up to date
with current promotions and hotel pricing, to provide information to
guests, on request, while maximizing sales opportunities;
- Manage and
maintain the administration of all reservations, cancellations and
no-shows, in line with the institute’s policy;
- Propose and
implement effective marketing strategies;
- Prepare the
operational budget for the NRC and;
- Prepare monthly
reports on the performance of the centre among others.
Requirements
for Appointment
For
appointment to this grade an applicant must have:
- Masters degree
in either of the following: Business Administration, Hotel Management,
institutional management or a related field;
- Served at the
level of a Manager in the hospitality industry for at least three (3)
years;
- Demonstrated
outstanding performance, leadership and ability in managing Hospitality
services at a senior level;
- Attended a
Management Course from a recognized institution lasting not less than 4
months;
- Initiative, be a
team player and self motivated and;
- Proficiency in
computer use and application.
(2) Assistant Director, TV Producer / Director KIE

Post
The
Assistant Director, TV Producer / Director will be responsible to the Deputy
Director Electronic and Emerging Media for production and directing of
television programmes.
Duties
and Responsibilities
- Formulate the
station goals, policies and procedures;
- Coordinate
production work for the Educational television channel;
- Prepare annual
work plan and budget;
- Plan and
supervise television production activities;
- Initiate
programme production partnerships and sponsorship;
- Ensure
compliance with national and international regulations and guidelines in
broadcasting; and
- Induct, train
and supervise staff.
Requirements
for Appointment
For
appointment to this grade, an applicant must have:
- A Masters degree
in either of the following: Communications, Media studies, Education,
Broadcast journalism, or related field from a recognized institution;
- Served as a
chief TV Producer KIE scale 11 or in a relevant and comparable position in
a reputable TV production broadcasting house at a supervisory level for at
least three (3) years;
- Knowledge of the
Kenyan curricular or Educational Television;
- Excellent verbal
and written communication skills;
- Ability to
adhere to strict deadlines;
- Knowledge of
broadcast regulations, rules and guidelines as well as technical and
production standards;
- Initiative, be a
team player and self motivated; and be
- Proficiency in
computer use and applications.
(3) Chief Programmer (TV)

Chief Programmer (TV) will report to the Deputy Director Electronic Emerging
Media.
Duties
and Responsibilities
- Vetting
(preview/pre-listening) programmes before airing; and
- Prepare work
plans, progress reports and performance reports.

- Served as Senior
programmer (TV) KIE scale 10 or in a relevant and comparable position in
Media Industry for at least three (3) years;

Media production;

- Wide knowledge
of topical and social issues;
- Ability to make
judgment on programme quality and appropriateness;
- Shown merit and
ability as reflected in work performance and results;
- Initiative, be a
team player and highly motivated; and be
- Proficiency in
computer use and applications.
(4) Chief Television (TV) Production Officer

(1) Post
The
Chief Television (TV) Production officer will report to the Deputy Director
Electronic & Emerging Media.
Duties
and Responsibilities
- Formulate the
station goals, policies and procedures;
- Coordinate
production work for the Educational television channel;
- Prepare annual
work plan and budget;
- Liaise with the
Programming manager on programs content and schedules;
- Plan and
supervise television production activities;
- Liaise with
producers, directors and technical teams on television productions;
- Initiate program
production partnerships and sponsorship;
- Ensure
compliance with national and international regulations and guidelines in
broadcasting;
- Conduct, monitor
and evaluate the educational channel productions and prepare reports; and
- Induct and train
staff.
Requirements
for appointment
For
appointment to this grade an officer must have:
- A Bachelor’s
degree in any of the following disciplines:- Communications, Media
Studies, Education, Broadcast Journalism from a recognized Institution;
- Served as Senior
Television producer KIE scale 10 or in a relevant and comparable position
in a busy TV production environment at a supervisory level for at least
three (3) years;
- Knowledge in
educational news gathering, reporting and presentation;
- Advanced
analytical skills;
- Excellent verbal
and written communication skills;
- Ability to
adhere to Strict deadlines and;
- Conversant with
broadcast regulations, rules and guidelines as well as technical and
production standards.
(5) Chief Curriculum Development Officer, Hindu Religion
Education

The Chief Curriculum Development Officer, HRE will report to the Deputy Director Basic Education.
Duties
and Responsibilities
- Coordinate and
develop relevant and quality curriculum support materials;
- Initiate and
participate in curriculum orientation activities;
- Coordinate
development and evaluation of curriculum support materials;
- Initiate
research, monitoring and evaluation activities in HRE area; and
- Coordinate
activities of HRE Education and course panels;

appointments to this grade, an applicant must have:
- A Master’s
degree in Education from a recognized Institution;
- Served as Senior
Curriculum Developer KIE 10 or in a relevant and comparable position for
at least three (3) years;
- Demonstrated
professional competence in HRE curriculum development or related areas;

(6) Food and Beverage Controller
KICD

(1) Post
The
Food and Beverage Controller will report to the Assistant Director, NACECE
Resource Centre.
Duties
and Responsibilities
- Control of
issues of food and beverage from the stores;
- Ensure all food
and beverages sales are controlled;
- Taking daily
stock of food and beverages;
- Preparing daily
food cost report; and
- Facilitating
smooth delivery of services and products to customers.
Requirement
for Appointment
For
appointment to this grade, an applicant must have:
- A Diploma in
food and beverage management from recognized Institution;
- Served as a Food
and Controller KIE 8 or in a relevant and comparable position in the hotel
industry for at least three (3) years
- Demonstrated
outstanding administrative ability in food and beverage control;
- Attended a
management course from a recognized Institution Lasting not less than four
weeks;
- Initiative, be a
team player and highly motivated; and be
- Proficiency in
computer use and applications.
(7) Sales Representatives

The
Sales representatives will report to the Senior Assistant Director, NRC.

and Responsibilities
Duties
and Responsibilities at this level:
- Plan for
marketing of hospitality and conference products and Services;
- Undertake an
intensive marketing of conference and hospitality services;
- Organize and
control bookings, follow-up and after sales evaluation of specific
accounts;
- Coordinate
publicity and other marketing activities on thematic base to various
target groups;
- Highlight and
bring to the knowledge of management emerging trends and issues related to
hospitality industry through intensive desk research and timely reporting;
and
- Participate
effectively in organizing any other institutional marketing events.
NB:
Applicants
with good command in English and Kiswahili and any other foreign language will
have an added advantage
Requirement for Appointment
For
appointment to this grade, an applicant must have:
- A Diploma in
marketing from a recognized institution;
- At least two years
experience in hospitality marketing;
- Excellent
interpersonal skills; and be
- Proficient in
computer application and use.
The
sales representatives will be remunerated on a commission basis.
