Description:
The
Research Care and Training Program (RCTP), is a collaboration between Kenya
Medical Research Institute (KEMRI), University of California, San Francisco
(UCSF) and University of Washington (UW).
Due
to its continued growth, the program is seeking motivated, pro-active
individual to fill the following vacancy:
Transport Officer (1 position)
Reports to: The Provincial Finance and Administration Officer

Position Purpose
In charge of Transport Management in the FACES Program, and will be required to device and implement new Transport management strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Advice the
Management on the evolving transportation requirements in all the areas
that the program operates in
- Initiate and
implement fleet management strategies.
- Management of
vehicle, Motor cycle and Motor Boats inventory and related accessories.
- Ensure Vehicles,
Motor Boats and Motor cycles are maintained and kept in good working
conditions and are clean. Liaise with outsourced Mechanical service
providers
- Supervision of
Coxswains, drivers and Motor Cycle riders. Ensure that all Coxswains,
drivers and Riders are compliant to the traffic Act, and other relevant
legal requirements
- Maintain, analyze
and report on Boats, Vehicle and Motor cycle running costs on a Monthly
basis.
- Ensure
compliance to the road Traffic, and water ways legal requirements. Make
sure that all Boats, Vehicles and Motor cycles are insured at all times,
and that all vehicles have road licenses.
- Liaise with
other study coordinators within RCTP.
- Submission of
monthly Boats, Vehicle and Motor Cycle returns to KEMRI
- Ensure that
Boats, Vehicles and Motor Cycles are clean.
Education
and Qualifications
- Diploma in
Automotive Engineering or equivalent.
- Candidates with
experience in fleet management will have an advantage
- At least Two
years experience as a Transport Officer.
- Valid Driving
License class BCE

and Specifications
- Sound knowledge
about vehicles.
- Ability to
provide quick solutions to problems.
- Good management
skills.
- Good
communication skills.
- Good
Interpersonal relations.
- Capable of
working for long hours and sometimes at odd situations.
- Working
Knowledge of Ms Office package.
