Oxfam
GB in Somalia has been assisting the population since the 1960s with
interventions focusing mainly on livelihood and public health sectors,
including water and sanitation interventions.
The role:
The role:
- You will ensure
high quality contract management of contracts for Somalia including submission
of timely and quality reports, amendments etc to maximise income from
donors and achieve planned Income targets.
- Work with the
Somali Programme staff to support and coordinate the submission of reports
to institutional donors.
- Build restricted
fund-management capacity within programme teams and inducting new staff on
funding issues.
- In consultation
with the programme team make regular field visits, particularly to support
on contract management related issues.
- Ensure that all
restricted income for specific programmes is correctly recorded according
to Oxfam's internal procedures and that files both electronic and
hardcopies are kept up to date.
- Coordinate and
share information with Oxford-based staff, including International Funding
Unit, Humanitarian Dept. and others as required.
- Conduct Partner
assessment and provide quality check on all financial reports reviewed by
the finance partner officer to ensure they comply with donor
requirements.
- Provide support
and advice to the Programme team on the analysis of partner budget
proposals and in the interpretation of financial reports from the
partners.
The
person:
- You will have a
minimum of 2 years extensive experience in funding management, finance and
donor contract management with major funding institutions e.g. DFID and
EU.
- Proven
experience in funding management and/or coordination in an international
non- governmental organisation.
- Proven ability
to influence managers, with previous experience in negotiating with
donors;
- Experience of
supervisory responsibilities, including good training and coaching skills
and a willingness to support development of others.
- Good
administrative skills and ability to effectively use IT packages (Word,
Excel and Databases).
- Good attention
to detail Numeracy, budgeting and financial reporting skills.
- Ability to work
effectively with others in a team situation to achieve fundraising
targets.
