The Mines Advisory Group (MAG) is a non-governmental organization (NGO) undertaking humanitarian mine action across the world. 

MAG is operational in Somalia to contribute to the safe social and economic development at the national, regional and local level by reducing the risk presented by remnants of conflict.

Job Description
 
The Logistics Officer is responsible for procurement, equipment maintenance, storage, fleet management, distribution and premises management.
 
Person Specification
  • Proven experience in stocks and equipment management: Provide logistics support to the field locations on regular basis, ensure procedure & proper & effective use of stock management tools, warehouse management, maintenance of equipment
  • Ensure a good purchase management: quality of purchase, follow up and delivery deadlines, ensure that the information (supplier data base, price list etc) has been capitalized and available to the mission in future, go to local markets, bargain with local merchants and/or vendors etc.
  • Proven experience in vehicle & machineries management and maintenance : setup appropriate maintenance contract with supplier and an appropriate repair process with local technicians ;
  • Premises management : Ensure the installation, follow up and security of premises
  • University Degree or another specific educational background in Logistics in a recognized institute
  • Fluency in English is desirable.
  • Competencies in computer skill including MS Office & E-mail
