Head of Finance Job Vacancy

Our client Netsol Kenya Limited is seeking to engage a self driven and experienced Head of Finance

You will be expected to take charge of the finance management function of the company, ensuring that appropriate financial plans are put in place, that the company’s resources, cash and non cash are secured from potential loss and deployed optimally and that the financial reporting processes and outputs are in line with company requirements and professional standards and comply with pertinent legislation.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure that the company has appropriate financial policies and processes that are embedded with optimal controls.
  • Contribute to the company’s strategic and business planning processes by carrying out the necessary analyses and preparing financial projections. Expected to support expansion and regionalization plans in a similar manner.
  • Generate annual financial plans and budgets and continually monitor performance against these plans and report to management, proposing remedial actions where necessary.
  • Maintain comprehensive rolling 12-month cash flow forecasts, clearly indicating expected inflows and outflows and highlighting funding gaps and excess cash availability.
  • Develop and execute investment plans that are aligned to the cash flows forecasts, ensuring that returns from invested funds are maximized.
  • Work with the company’s bankers to secure facilities that cover operating and capex funding shortfalls, ensuring that repayment terms and related conditions are optimal. Responsible for maintaining optimal relationships with the bankers.
  • Continually review and upgrade accounting systems and procedures in line with the company's operating systems, internal control requirements and shareholder instructions.
  • Manage accounts receivables and payables in an optimal manner, ensuring that agreed terms of business are complied with by all parties.
  • Ensure that financial data in maintained in an optimal manner that ensures accuracy of information and facilitates reporting.
  • Undertake the necessary financial analysis to generate management and statutory reports, ensuring that the outputs are both timely and accurate.
  • Ensure that the company complies with the country's laws relating to corporate and other taxes, including accurate computation, declaration and payment.
  • Maintain optimal relationships with suppliers and other service providers so as to ensure that the company receives timely, quality and cost efficient services at all times, and enjoys optimal terms.
  • Support the external auditing process, compiling the necessary data and responding to queries as needed. 
  • Manage and optimize the IT platform, to ensure easy records management and data analysis, and efficient reporting.
  • Recruit, develop, motivate and evaluate the performance of team members.
Requirements
  • Degree in accounting or financial management.
  • CPA (K)
  • 10+ years’ experience
  • Financial accounting, planning and management expertise
  • Expertise in developing of policies and procedures
  • Budgeting and budgetary control experience
  • Knowledge of tax laws and regulations
  • Excellent IT skills in-depth knowledge of accounting software
  • Staff management, development and discipline skills
