NGO Program Director and Instructors Jobs in Kenya


Kenya Red Cross School of Emergency Medical Services (KRCS School of EMS) is an arm of Kenya Red Cross Society mandated to provide Emergency Medical Service trainings to meet the demand of the Pre-hospital Emergency Care in Kenya. 

To effectively run its programs the School is currently recruiting for the following positions:

 Program Director

1 Position

Reporting to the General Manager, the Program Director is responsible for the day to day operational, development, implementation and evaluation of the three level Paramedic progressions Program.

Main Responsibilities
  • Recruit, assign, supervise and evaluate all Paramedic program instructors.
  • Coordinate and provide oversight for classroom lecture content, lab content and clinical experiences.
  • Conduct classroom and online instruction as needed.
  • Prepare instructional schedule for each semester.
  • Coordinate MOU’s or contract agreements and renewals with community health agencies utilized for clinical and practicum rotations.
  • Secure and maintain the appropriate approval and/or renewal and accreditation status for the paramedic program.
  • Complete Annual Program Assessment.
  • Maintain and submit to the KRCS management statistical data regarding the program and student success at the end of each semester and recommendations for improvement.
  • Maintain students course outlines and course evaluation records for the programs.
Minimum Requirements
  • A bachelor’s degree with a Masters or a higher degree preferably in Health or Medical or Paramedicine related field.
  • Experience in Teaching Paramedicine courses highly valued.
  • At least 5 (five) years management experience.
  • Current certification in the following; Basic life support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Advanced Trauma Life
  • Support (ATLS), Pediatric Life Support (PALS).
Key Competencies
  • The ideal candidate should be able to teach two or more of the following Paramedic modules; Anatomy and Physiology,
  • Medical Emergencies, Professional Practice in Paramedicine, Trauma, Patient assessment, Communication in Paramedicine,
  • Pharmacology and Critical Care integration.
  • Knowledge of online teaching platforms is highly valued.
  • Strong leadership, team building, conflict resolution and ability to deliver the School’s strategic objectives.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills in both English and Kiswahili, including ability to develop reports.
Instructors

3 Positions

Reporting to The Program Director, the Instructors are responsible for day to day program implementation with specific responsibility of course delivery including teaching didactic, lab sessions, clinical and practicum rotation.

Main Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize instruct and organize paramedic courses.
  • Assist in securing clinical and practicum sites.
  • Provide clinical and practicum/internship supervision to students enrolled to the Paramedic programs.
  • Provide classroom instruction and assist in the development of class schedules for the programs.
  • Assist in the design, writing, implementation and review of the Paramedic program.
  • Promote team work with the ability to support a cohesive school of EMS.
  • Ability to work with students in both one on one and in group instruction situations in a student-centered learning environment.
Minimum Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Health or Medical or Paramedicine related field from recognized institution of higher learning.
  • Current certification in the following; Basic Life Support (BLS) instructor, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) instructor,
  • Advanced Trauma Life Support ATLS) instructor, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
