Job Purpose
To oversee the management of stores and stock in a manner that ensures the
security of stored items, keeping accurate and up to date records and compliance

Key Duties
- Oversee
the overall operations of the stores: stock levels management, staff
management, participate in recruitment, staff motivation, coaching and
mentorship.
- Monitor
levels of stock items and initiate stock requisitions.
- Oversee
the operations of the depot independently in the absence of the Depot
Manager
- Reviewing
stocking levels in respect to stock items and advice the Depot Manager to
ensure prompt delivery of the required stocks.
- Maintain
regular communication with operational departments i.e. Accounts
department on stock reconciliation and stock takes so as to stay up to
date with their material requirements and take necessary re order in
liaison with the Depot Manager to avoid stock out situations.
- Maintain
good housekeeping and proper arrangements that facilitate easy retrieval
within the stores/ warehouse and ensure that that safety and environment
standards are maintained at all times.
- Help
in ensuring that the stores physical structures and stocks are maintained
in a good condition and requisition maintenance action as and when needed.
- Assists
in identify obsolete and slow moving stock items and recommend the
necessary actions, including the disposal of such items
- Ensure
stock issuing procedure is followed to the later i.e. FIFO method, first
in first out so as to avoid expiry of stock in the depot
- Ensure
that losses of whatever nature for example; leakers, breakages, shortages
etc are reported, recorded and recovered from the responsible individuals
- Ensure
that stores records are accurately maintained and up to date and the
necessary reports are generated and acted upon within stipulated time
period. Maintain and update the stock records in the blackboard on a daily
basis.
- Organise
the daily and monthly stock taking activities
- Enforce
company safety rules and regulations within the stores.
- Any
other duty that may be allocated to you by your Supervisors/ seniors from
time to time.
Knowledge/Skills/Experience
- Degree/
Diploma in Purchasing and Supply
- Professional
qualification in stores management
- Over
5 years work experience in a FMCG in a similar capacity necessary
- Experience
from distributorship is an added advantage
