Head of Sales
Our client; wines, beer and spirits distributor company seeks to fill the above position.
Job Purpose
We are looking for a talented individual, with a proven track record in a senior sales role, to join our team as Head of Sales.
The person will lead and manage the sales team, be responsible for achieving
our ambitious growth plans, and engage with the Senior Management Team to
develop and implement sales strategies that we achieve and exceed budgeted
levels of sales growth in all service lines.Our client; wines, beer and spirits distributor company seeks to fill the above position.
Job Purpose
We are looking for a talented individual, with a proven track record in a senior sales role, to join our team as Head of Sales.
This role is all about collaborating with various departments to develop propositions for our services, to inspire the Sales Team and lead the team of Sales professionals to sell our services to our designated markets.
Key Duties
- Engaging
and proposing the development of new marketing propositions
- Devising
our go‐to‐market plan for our services, driving and
coordinating the pace of execution
- Achieving
target levels of new business through effective management of a team of
sales professionals, network stokists and prospects.
- Develops/or
participates with the Senior Staff in the development of the Strategic
Marketing Plan for the Company and implementation of Sales Strategy that
addresses different geographical sales coverage
- Directs
department(s) to achieve objectives established in the Company’s Strategic
Plan
- To
recruit, inspire, develop, train, manage and motivate a growing team of
sales professionals, network stokists who will deliver high standards of
sales services across all identified markets and service lines.
- To
regularly report achievements versus budget forecasts to the Senior
Management Team.
- To
manage the Market Excellence/Intelligence process; gathering market and
customer information and providing feedback on future trends, to support
sales campaigns.
- To
work closely with the Operations Team and other departments/divisions of
the Company to ensure successful smooth delivery of client services.
- Ensure
quality control of all sales output pertaining to customer acquisition and
service delivery.
- Establish
and monitor performance reporting systems
- In
charge of all sales activities, departments and personnel involved in
Sales and Marketing for the Company.
- Analyze
sales statistics to determine business growth potential.
- Establishes
performance goals for all sales department employees, and monitors
performance on a continual basis.
- Seeks
out and targets new customers and new sales opportunities, initiates
action plan to approach and secure new business for the Company.
Knowledge/Skills/Experience
- Bachelors
degree in Sales and Marketing /a business related field,
- MBA
in Sales and Marketing is highly desirable,
- Minimum
of 8 - 10 years experience in a sales management capacity preferably in
the alcohol industry.
- Must
have good understanding of mass markets with EDI systems to drive a
growing business;
- Strong
motivational, innovative, and interpersonal skills;
- Proven
leadership ability to influence, develop, and empower employees to achieve
objectives with a team approach.
- Proven
successful track record of delivering sales in line with budgets within a
Senior Sales role
- Experience
from distributorship is an added advantage
