Accounting Officer Job in Nairobi Kenya

Diakonie Emergency Aid (DEA) is a worldwide humanitarian assistance agency of the Protestant Church of Germany. The regional office in Nairobi is in charge of relief projects in the greater Horn of Africa and Madagascar.

DEA seeks to recruit suitable candidate to fill the position of
 Accounting Officer

Key Responsibilities

  • Entry and controlling of accounting transactions in the Quick Books accounting software as well as proper filing of documents.
  • Processing of staff salaries and coordinating remittance of statutory payments in time.
  • Ensuring proper documentation of all financial transactions as well as monitoring and reviewing reports for accuracy, validity and completeness.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly budget reports as well as closing of books of account at the end of the year
  • Interact with external auditors in completing audits
  • Maintain and regularly update the DEA fixed asset register.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • University degree in Finance/Accounting/Commerce.
  • CPA II/ACCA II will be an added advantage
  • At least 2 years working experience with an international NGO
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft office and accounting software
  • Minimum 2 years driving experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of spoken and written English
  • Posses creative problem solving skills
  • Team player
