Administrator Job in Kenya - KAM Global Compact Network Kenya

The Kenya Association of Manufacturers is the representative organization for manufacturing value-add industries in Kenya.

In its effort to enhance the competitiveness of Kenyan businesses, KAM promotes sustainable business practices through Corporate Social Responsibility as a collaborative strategy to address the fundamental challenges posed by globalization today.

The Global Compact is a call to businesses to voluntarily align their business operations and strategies with 10 universally accepted UN Principles on Human Rights, Labour Rights, Environment and Anti-corruption because in doing so, companies will sustain their investments, markets and employment.

Over the next two-years, KAM will oversee implementation of project on “Strengthening the Impact and Sustainability of Global Compact Network in Kenya.

Pursuant to this objective, we are seeking to fill the position of a Network Administrator at the Global Compact Secretariat based at KAM.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as a company contact for the Kenya Network;
  • Organise and coordinate participation, learning, and outreach events for network members;
  • Administrate GCNK database and oversee content and design quality;
  • Offer support to companies and Network members with daily enquiries;
  • Follow up network members to ensure they meet requirements for Communication on Progress (COP) by due dates;
  • Oversee needs assessment surveys and annual general meetings for the network;
  • Keep an updated COP assistance kit and offer companies limited assistance with COP requirements;
  • Identify potential members from GCNK corporate performers and pursue recruitment;
  • Keep updated standard procedure and step-by-step guidelines on sign up process for the Global Compact;
  • Upload international links to the Global Compact website and keep the website updated;
  • Coordinate stakeholder and steering committee meetings for the GCNK;
  • Coordinate CSR training for company focal points;
  • Organise mentorship workshops for members;
  • Develop and publish publicity material for the network including brochures, newsletter and other network publications;
  • Any other tasks as may be delegated by project partners.
Requirements:
  • The right candidate should have a university degree in humanities and/or social sciences, particularly Business Studies and/or Communication and an interest in assisting companies with CSR-awareness and implementation.
  • A flair for writing and events management will be an added advantage.
