Supply and Installation of Airport Operational Database (AODB) at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport
Tender No. KAA/59/2010-2011
Kenya Airports Authority wishes to invite bids from eligible firms for Supply and Installation of Airport Operational Database (AODB) at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
The Airport Operational Database (AODB) shall be the central repository for operations data related to scheduled and non-scheduled flight operations at the airport. The AODB functions shall include Data Storage, Data Distribution, Schedule Management, Maintenance of a Central Knowledge Base, Aircraft Movement Tracking, Generation of Airport Charges, and Reporting.
It will also include a data directory and interface with other operational systems and applications, such as the airport information display system or a resource allocation application.
Interested bidders are expected to meet the following minimum criteria among others and provide information and documentary proof to show that they are qualified to supply and install airport operational database:-
a. Proof of having successfully completed installation of an Airport Operational Database (AODB) with an average value of at least Kenya Shillings twenty million (Kshs. 20,000,000) in three sites in the last five years. Two of the sites must been in an international airport with annual passenger traffic of six (6) million.
b. Availability of experienced experts (key personnel) with minimum Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field and minimum of five (5) years experience in management of project of similar nature for the project manager and three (3) years experience in implementing projects of similar size for the project members.
c. Bidder’s capacity to have cash flow amount of Kenya Shillings Twenty Million (Kshs. 20,000,000) equivalent; by access to lines of credit, other financial resources such as bank statements or letter from the bank.
d. Minimum average annual turnover of Kenya Shillings one hundred million (Kshs. 100,000,000) equivalent calculated as total certified payments received for contracts in progress or completed, within the last three years (2007, 2008 and 2009).
Interested eligible firms may obtain further information and inspect the tender documents at the Kenya Airports Authority Headquarters at JKIA, 2nd Floor, office of the Manager (Procurement & Logistics) from 8.00 am to 5.00 pm local time, Monday to Friday except lunch time between 1.00 pm and 2.00 pm and on public holidays.
Tender documents may be purchased at Kenya Airports Authority Headquarter office at JKIA Nairobi for a non-refundable fee of kshs.3000 for each document. Payment will be at the cashier on 1st floor by cash or banker’s cheque payable to Kenya Airports Authority. Tender documents will be picked by the applicant or his/her agent at the procurement office on 2nd floor of the same building on production of the payment receipt.
Duly completed bid documents shall be submitted in plain sealed envelopes clearly marked “TENDER FOR SUPPLY AND INSTALLATION OF AIRPORT OPERATIONAL DATABASE (AODB) AT JOMO KENYATTA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT.” -TENDER NO. KAA/59/2010-2011 and addressed to:-

Or be deposited in the tender box located on the 2nd Floor of Kenya Airports Authority Headquarters, so as to be received on or before 4th March 2011 at 11.00 am and shall be valid for a period of 90 days after bid submission. Late bids shall be rejected. Bids shall be opened soon after in the presence of bidders representatives who choose to attend at the Conference Room, 5th floor, KAA HQ’s Building.
A pre-bid/site visit meeting will be held on 16th February 2011 starting at 11am at Kenya Airports Authority Headquarters Complex Building, 5th floor conference room. Bidders to make own transport arrangement
Canvassing directly or indirectly will lead to automatic disqualification of bidders.
