Kenya Industrial Estates Limited, a fully owned Government Development Finance Institution under the Ministry of Industrialization, specializes in promoting industrialization through indigenous enterprise development by championing the development of Micro, Small and Medium Industries throughout the country with specific focus on clustering of industries, rural
industrialization and value addition to locally available raw materials.

We are seeking to recruit suitable qualified persons to fill the following vacant positions that have arisen within the company.

1. Manager - Legal Services and Company Secretary

Reporting to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:-

The overall responsibility
  • Provide secretarial and legal services to the company as well as institute appropriate policies in the legal department.
Key Tasks
  • Formulate policies to guide the department and the company on all legal matters.
  • Provision of secretarial/legal services to the company.
  • Co-ordinating and managing Board activities.
  • Undertaking debt collection among other duties.
Educational and Professional Requirements
  • Law Degree (L.L.B).
  • CPS (K).
  • LSK membership.
  • Registered advocate of the high court of Kenya.
  • Valid practicing certificate.
  • Management and leadership courses.
  • Computer literate.
Work Experience
  • At least 3 years experience in a large legal firm or organization.
2. Assistant Manager- Administration and Procurement

Reporting to the Human Resources and Administration Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:-

The overall responsibility
  • Providing administrative and procurement function services to the organization.
Key Tasks
  • Establishing administration policies and procedures, and work schedules.
  • Planning, directing, and coordinating support services within the organization.
  • Managing the procurement functions, developing and implementing procurement strategies, policies and procedures in the line with the Public Procurement and Disposal Act, 2005 and other related regulations.
Educational and Professional Requirements
  • Diploma or Degree in Procurement and Supplies.
  • Should be a member of KISM.
Work Experience
  • At least 3 years experience in handling logistics/administrative and procurement duties in a large organization.
  • Wide knowledge and experience of Government procurement procedures is a must.
3. Personal Assistant (PA) to the Managing Director

Reporting to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for:-

The overall responsibility
  • Providing administrative, secretarial and logistical support to the CEO.
Key Tasks
  • Arranging meetings, drafting minutes of meetings and preparing other routine documents including speeches and workshop presentations.
  • Carrying out office administrative duties among others.
Educational and Professional Requirements
  • A first degree in business administration or secretarial.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • A masters degree in a relevant field although not mandatory will be an added advantage.
Work Experience
  • Minimum 2-3 years working as a Personal Assistant to a senior executive or as a senior/executive secretary in a busy department is required.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (spoken and written) are essential for the position.
  • Experience in events management is desirable
4. Clerk of Works

Reporting to the Industrial Estates Development and Incubation Services manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for:-

The overall responsibility
  • Undertaking supervision of construction of Industrial Estates and related activities.
Key Tasks
  • Supervising construction works.
  • Preparing bills of quantities (BQs) for building works and supervising construction of Industrial Estates.
  • Preparing feasibility studies and progress reports for construction projects in liaison with relevant consultants.
Educational and Professional Requirements
  • Higher National Diploma in architecture or building and civil engineering from a recognized institution.
  • Computer literacy.
Work Experience
  • At least 2 years experience in supervision of civil/building works in a large organization.
