Job Title: Lodge Manager

Salary indication: Ksh. 25,000/= – Ksh. 32,000/=
Kisindi Lodge & Spa is a Luxury Lodge catering for both overseas and domestic guests alike. With a bed capacity of 18 guests we are able to provide a boutique experience to our guests. Kisindi Lodge & Spa is a sister lodge to Maili Saba Camp in Nakuru. We pride ourselves to provide quality service, gourmet cuisine and going the extra mile for our guests. Kisindi Lodge & Spa serves as an income generating programme to Ujima Foundation.
Profile:
We are looking for a Loyal, punctual and outgoing person who is able to adapt to guests of different walks of life. The incumbent should be well groomed and presentable able to communicate clearly with guests and other partners of the Ujima Foundation. The incumbent values team work and is flexible. Accuracy and drive to excel are a must. Since the incumbent will be handling cash and other valuables proven record of honesty and integrity are part of the selection procedure.
Requirements:
·         Diploma or Degree in Hospitality management and at least 5 years of work experience of which at least 2 in a management position in a similar hospitality set up.
·         Fluent in both English and Kiswahili
·         Ability and willingness to work with people / guests from all walks of life
·         Ability to manage a small team of dedicated staff members within the culture and values of the organisation.
·         Proven organisational skills, meticulous when it comes to standards and a great motivator.
·         Able and willing to multitask and provide hands-on management. E.g. receiving an ambassador this minute and assist in cleaning the pool the other.
·         Experience with computerised reservation systems
·         Insight in accounts and able to read profit and loss accounts
·         Willingness to life on site at Kisindi Lodge & Spa
Responsibilities:
·         Managing a small team of full and part-time employees (HRM)
·         General office administration, which includes payroll, scheduling, ordering supplies and inventory control.
·         Maintain ongoing training of staff and trainees
·         Recruitment, staff progress monitoring and evaluations
·         Ensuring highest standard of service while managing the food and beverage, housekeeping, front office and security departments.
·         Handles guests’ complaints calmly and efficiently and follows up on action required.
·         Draft and execute approved budgets
·         Monitor and handle day to day cash flow
·         Substitute Managing Director when applicable
·         Together with chef come up with menu suggestions and improvements.
·         Monitor and evaluate staffs concurrence with standardized procedures.
·         As we are starting Kisindi lodge & spa there will most likely be an amendment or specifications of tasks in the course of the year amendments will become part of this contract unless otherwise agreed.
