Our client, the Seychelles Trading Company, is the leading supplier of foods and fast moving consumer goods in the island nation, off the East African coast, renowned for its tourism and fishing Industries.
The company’s core functions include sourcing, importing, warehousing, marketing, sales & distribution of a wide range of goods
The company now wishes to fill the following positions to be based in its capital city, Mahe:-
Head of Internal Audit

With this appointment, the company seeks to strengthen its internal controls and ensure that all transactions comply with laid down policy/procedures and also comply with statutory regulations.
The main duties and responsibilities of the position include:-
  • Driving the internal audit strategy and the operational development of internal audit and assurance services
  • Scheduling and carrying out audit assignments to cover all aspects of the company’s operations bearing in mind the risk factor;
  • Compiling incisive reports on findings and recommendations;
  • Liaising with external auditors and ensuring effective follow up and monitoring of action taken by management in response to audit findings;
  • Facilitating the professional development and progression of staff
Qualifications & other requirements:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or equivalent university degree.
  • Professional Internal Auditing or Accounting qualification e.g. ACCA, CPA, CISA
  • At least 5 years work experience acquired in professional audit or internal audit of which at least 2 years should be at Manager level.
  • Proven skills in identifying causes of shortcomings, addressing them and coordinating assignments/projects;
  • Strong team-building and motivational skills.
Supermarket Manager

Reporting to the General Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the efficient running of one of the company’s key outlets – a supermarket in Mahe.
Key duties will include:-
  • Achieving agreed sales targets, Gross Profit margin and Net margin as per business plan.
  • Effective control of overheads and stocks
  • Providing the required management, training and motivation of staff
  • Establishing and maintaining high standards in customer service, merchandising and stock rotation
Qualifications & other requirements:
  • A university degree in a business related discipline
  • At least 5 years experience in supermarket management with a passion for food retailing or wholesaling;
  • Excellent interpersonal and people management skills
  • Good business sense and a knack for figures;
  • A go getter, with a proven track record of achieving results.
Trade Marketing Manager

For this crucial position, the company requires a dynamic and proactive marketing professional with an ability to think “out of the box” to synergize the marketing activities of the company.
The selected candidate will be responsible for the following:-
  • Developing and implementing strategies, policies, processes and tools for the trade marketing function.
  • Develop and facilitate implementation of short, mid and long term marketing and sates plans.
  • Conducting market research on competition, expansion/extension of products/services in all relevant market segments.
  • Developing and facilitating the implementation of short, mid and long term marketing and sales plans.
  • Facilitating the expansion of countrywide trade/dealership network and build long term and enduring customer relations.
  • Providing training and development of staff in Trade Marketing techniques and knowledge
  • Regularly analyzing performance against the business plan and making appropriate reports.
Qualifications & other requirements:
  • Hold at least a Bachelor’s degree with specialization in Marketing or International Business from a recognized University;
  • an MBA in Marketing is preferred.
  • Have a minimum of 5 years experience in Trade/Customer marketing or brand management in the FMCG sector;
  • Be innovative and possess strong strategic leadership and decision making skills
  • Proven success in designing and implementing effective trade promotions which deliver desired results;
  • Well developed analytical, planning and problem solving skills
Successful candidates will be employed on 2 year renewable contracts.
