Our client, with manufacturing interest and market leader in its range of products is looking for a highly motivated Operations Manager to be based in Nairobi.
The successful candidate will head the production department and report to the Managing Director.
Key responsibilities
- Achievement of set performance objectives
- Planning and scheduling of jobs and prioritizing the same to ensure customer delivery requirements are met
- Coordinate with supply chain department for availability of all raw materials
- Liaise with dispatch department to ensure delivery schedules are met
- In charge of quality control for both incoming goods as well as finished products
- Plan and coordinate preventive maintenance of machinery and equipment
- Maintain stock control over all items including spare parts and consumable items for the plant
- In conjunction with Human Resources Department, recruit, train and motivate manpower
- Prepare regular report of the production department and key performance indicators
Qualifications and experience
- At least 5 years experience in a production department with bias towards planning and coordination of all activities
- Experience of quality control procedures
- Excellent communication skills both within the organization and with customers and suppliers.
- Some technical knowledge in area of mechanical engineering
- Degree in engineering and / or business management
