Kimathi University College of Technology (KUCT), situated in Nyeri, was established as a constituent College of Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) through Legal Notice No. 162 of August 2007.
KUCT's focus is training of middle and high level manpower in technological areas.
At present, it offers degree programmes in Actuarial Science, Computer Science and Information Technology, Mechanical, Civil and Mechatronic Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Telecommunication and Information Engineering.
Others are in Geospatial and Geomatic Engineering, GIS, Food Science and Technology and Sustainable Tourism and Hospitality Management. Business courses include Bachelor of Commerce and Purchasing and Supplies Management.
It also offers a range of diploma and certificate courses.
The University is looking for a visionary, dynamic and result -oriented academician for the position of Deputy Principal, Academic Affairs.
The successful candidate should be a Professor or Associate Professor with at least eight years experience in a senior academic position.
In addition, he or she must have held a senior administrative position as University Dean, Director, Chairman of Department or Campus. He/She must have demonstrated capacity for progressive and innovative leadership in technological areas and have the ability to promote learning, teaching, research and development.
The successful candidate should have good interpersonal and communications skills, be familiar with the education and development policies of Government of Kenya and be aware of the trends in higher education worldwide. The candidate must be a person of demonstrable integrity, highest ethical standards and professionalism.
Terms and Conditions of Service
The successful candidate will be offered a competitive remuneration package, including a house allowance and benefits, applicable to Deputy Principals of Constituent Colleges of public universities in Kenya. The appointment shall be for a five-year contract.
