Experience in GIS and Digital Image Processing software packages (e.g. ARCGIS, ERDAS Imagine, ENVI, etc.) and Computer Programming will be an added advantage.

Applicants with a Masters degree must have at least two (2) years of teaching experience at university level after obtaining the Masters degree and at least two (2) publications in refereed journal(s) and be ready to register for a doctorate program.

The successful candidate will teach both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Theory and Environmental Applications of remote sensing, Geographical Information Systems, Photogrammetry, Surveying and Cartography.

He/she will also be expected to advise and supervise postgraduate students, and initiate and conduct research in the general area of mapping using remote sensing, GIS and photogrammetry as tools for solving environmental problems.

The successful candidate will be responsible to counsel in the following areas:
  • Identifying staff with social psychological or health related problems, providing guidance and counseling on career development, family or personal counseling, liaising with Health Unit on staff health and providing counseling on family personal and social matters at the work place.
  • Liaising with the personnel section in counseling and advising staff on personal and social matters at their place of work.
  • They will be responsible for organizing workshops for staff to reduce stress and resolving conflicts.
  • Performing any other additional duty from time to time as maybe requested by the Chief Administrative Officer.
  • The post calls for an individual who is committed, responsible, self-driven and imaginative.
  • A counselor who is a member of a counseling body will have an added advantage.
