We are seeking a highly motivated professional to fill the following position:
Accounts Assistant – ACC ASST -24-1
(1 position)
This
position will be reporting to the Senior Accountant in the Finance Department.
Job Purpose:
To
contribute to strategic and responsible finances management by providing
professional accounting to ensure timely, dependable, and accurate information
for decision making.
Responsibilities:
1.
Preparing bank reconciliations
for all banks monthly as per applicable deadlines.
2.
Invoicing, receipting, and
mailing of tenants, staff, and other debtor statements.
3.
Invoicing, receipting income and
posting expenses for the restaurant.
4.
Preparing approved payments for
the restaurant.
5.
Preparing monthly reports for
the university restaurant.
6.
Monitoring and reconciling daily
cash collections for the restaurant sales.
7.
Reviewing the petty cash for the
restaurant.
8.
Assist in student fees issues
and other matters by other stakeholders.
9.
Assist in student registration
and exam clearance.
10.
Monitor cash imprest paid out to
ensure compliance with finance policy.
11.
Monitor accounts receivable and
ensure that they are settled within the agreed timelines.
12.
Prepare the necessary journals
entries.
13.
Obtain and file all bank
statements.
14.
Maintain up to date records of
all Kijiji Resort M-PESA transactions.
15.
Any other duties as may be
assigned from time to time by the supervisor in furtherance of the University
objectives.
Qualifications:
1.
Hold a degree in Business with
an Accounting option with at least one year experience in a similar position.
2.
CPA qualifications will be an
added advantage.
3.
Excellent grasp of computer
applications especially Excel.
4.
Experience working with an
accounting system.
