Security Intern
Key Responsibilities
The intern, reporting to
the Security Officer, is expected to:
Assist
in compiling factual information, to facilitate reporting and decision-making
process.
Assist
in planning and preparation of field missions.
Assist
in preparation of security assessment reports after field missions.
Support
compiling routine security reports and ensure relevant databases are accurately
updated at all times.
Assist
in the inventory control and maintenance of security equipment, to ensure its
appropriate
functioning at all times.
Support
in the emergency and contingency planning documentation.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s
degree in Security Management, International Relations or Law Enforcement or
other relevant field.
Currently
enrolled in a master’s degree programme and have attended classes in the past
12 months, or a recent graduate from a bachelor or graduate programme
(within six months prior to the application to the internship programme) ; or
Graduated
no longer than 1 year ago from a Bachelor’s/master’s degree or equivalent
studies.
Language: Fluency in both oral and
written English is required. Knowledge of another UN language is an advantage.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Interns
receive a monthly stipend from WFP depending on the duty station of assignment.
WFP
is not responsible for living expenses, arrangements for
accommodation, necessary visas and related costs.
WFP
will recognize candidates’ educational credentials from recognised institutions
that have been certified by competent international or national authorities
such as the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization
(UNESCO) or Ministries of Education.
The
internship duration is 8 months, full-time.
