Job Vacancy: Study Doctor (One Position)

Job
Summary: The “Clinical evaluation of Daily Nestorone (NES) ® and
Testosterone (T) combination gel for male contraception study is a clinical
trial that aims to determine the contraceptive efficacy and acceptability of
the Nestorone (NES) and Testosterone (T) combination gel.
The
study is currently being carried out at Kenyatta National Hospital, at the
couple counseling center.
The
study is recruiting a study doctor who will be responsible for following up
study participants that have already been recruited and conducting the
necessary study procedures

Supervisor: Study Coordinator
Job
Specification
· Have a
Bachelors of Medicine and Surgery degree/Medical Doctor.
· Must be
registered and licensed by the Kenya Medical practitioners and Dentists council
· Must
have a Good Clinical practice certificate
· Past
experience working in a clinical research set up and research experience in a
clinical trial is an added advantage
· Ability
to counsel participants on family planning methods
· Excellent
interpersonal skills
· Must be
available to offer 14 hours effort per week to the study.
Duties and Responsibilities;
· The
study doctor will be required to conduct physical examination and provide
clinical care to study participants.
· Counselling
the study participants on procedures stipulated within the study protocol.
· Work hand
in hand with the retention officer to ensure participant retention in the study
· Communicate
with other healthcare professionals involved in the treatment of research
participants.
· Conduct
phlebotomy to obtain blood samples, and manage the collected samples per study
protocols
· Attend
meetings with the study coordinators and /PI to discuss patient care and
research activities.
· Complete
all the CRFs for all the research participants seen within the clinic
· Perform
daily quality improvement procedures for samples collected and CRFs completed.
· Ensure
all project supplies are kept in safe custody and are ordered in a timely
manner in consultation with the study coordinator
· Perform
other duties as directed by the Principal investigator.
