If you have commercial experience as IT Support
as well as in production/manufacturing robotics/CAD production, we want to hear
from you. This is a unique opportunity for you to be part of a brand-new role
in our IT technical department in Kenya.
As a manufacturing/production IT Engineer, you
will be part of our IT Systems department where you will be supporting our 40+
staff in M-KOPA’s local phone assembly plant. You will be responsible for
creating, implementing production robotic solutions to improve operational
performance, along with trouble shooting production machinery, thus supporting
and enhancing system’s capability. Ultimately the role would evolve under an IT
business partner lead to support critical processes within the production
supply team.
It is an on-site role in our local phone
assembly manufacturing site in Nairobi, Kenya. You will be reporting to the IT
System Manager.

have experience delivering and leading IT services for Applications and
Software supporting robotic manufacturing and production; technical
consumer product experience would be highly beneficial

work will have a direct impact achieving our key goal – to increase our
phone sells figures and become even more competitive in the Kenyan market

will work with various solution vendors to resolve issues, implement new
technologies and integrations
- You
will take ownership of your work, partnering with cross functional peers
to ensure work success
- In
your work you will provide first-class support to the assembly line,
supporting operations and personnel to guarantee maximum uptime including
like the following
- Ensure
proper SOPs are followed during the startup, shutdown and maintenance of
all IT/robotic-related assembly line equipment
- You
will plan with the manufacturing team the implementation of robotic
upgrades, maintenance and re-tooling requirements to maintain optimum
production
- Ensure
timely backups of all critical IT systems are taken, tested and properly
stored to guarantee minimum RTO and RPO
- Assistance
in general IT requirements as required
We’re excited about you because you have experience with:
- IT
support within the assembly line and exposure to IT Operations and
manufacturing environment
- Programmable
Logic Controllers (PLC) and Robotics in industrial network architectures
- PC
maintenance and in-depth understanding of IT/OT security requirements
- Design
and implementation of industrial networks including VLANs, switches,
routers, firewalls & ACLs
- Design,
implementation and administration of enterprise solutions such as VMware,
Windows Hyper-V, SQL Server, Windows server & desktop Operating
Systems, Active Directory and FTP servers
- Chinese
manufacturing methodologies and suppliers or you may speak Mandarin
- You
hold a diploma in IT, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering
