Job Vacancy: Finance
and Accounts Officer
The Jomo Kenyatta University of
Agriculture and Technology Staff Retirement Benefits Scheme [‘The Scheme’], one
of the leading Benefit Scheme in Kenya with high fund value, is seeking to
recruit a qualified, competent and highly motivated, results oriented candidate
to fill the position of a Finance and Accounts Officer.
Requirements
The candidate shall meet the following
minimum requirements:
·
Bachelor of Commerce specializing in
Finance or Accounting,
·
CPA(K),
·
Five (5) year’s work experience in a
busy pension Scheme or reputable organization,
·
A track record of success and
performance characterized by vision and strategic thought, rapid growth and
service delivery.
OR
·
Bachelor of Business Administration
or Economics from a recognized institution,
·
CPA(K),
·
Seven (7) year’s work experience in a
busy pension Scheme or reputable organization,
·
A track record of success and performance
characterized by vision and strategic thought, rapid growth and service
delivery.
Duties and Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities of
the Finance and Accounts Officer are:
·
Preparation of Scheme Financial
reports to ensure they are ready and comply with the set reporting deadlines
and standards.
·
Maintaining and testing proper
financial and operational controls, systems and records.
·
Monitoring controls for financial
efficiency and manage cash flow to ensure optimal cash levels.
·
Preparation of the Budgets and
overseeing the implementation of the approved budgets
·
Ensuring timely delivery and review
of reports from service providers within the set standards and procedures.
·
Ensuring compliance to statutory
obligations.
·
Any other duties that may be assigned
by the Fund Administrator or Trustees from time to time.
Core Competencies
The following core competencies and
skills shall be required for the position: –
Technical
·
Knowledge of tax laws and RBA
regulations
·
Experience in IFRS and Public Finance
Management Act, 2012
·
Reporting and analytical skills.
