Redress Trust is a human rights organization based in London,
England, that helps survivors of torture to obtain
justice and reparation, in the form of compensation, rehabilitation, official
acknowledgement of the wrong and formal apologies. In addition Redress seeks
accountability for those who have been tortured. Redress provides legal and
related support in obtaining legal reparations and promotes survivors’ rights
in international and regional courts and tribunals.
We seek the services of Field Officers in all the 47 counties to
represent Redress as we aim to co-create an extensive working system at the
community level.
Field Officers shall be responsible for particular tasks related
to the selection of the beneficiaries, monitoring activities, communication
with counterparts involved in the county projects in the project preparation,
implementation and evaluation in accordance with the existing regulations and
requirements.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:
o Field work; providing project management team with daily
feedback on field activities
o Assisting in daily organization of data collection tools, data
storage, and maintenance of equipment
o Monitoring project components with the special focus on
supporting income generating activities;
o Project activity reporting and documenting
o Beneficiary selection and socio-economic assessment
o Conducting small-group training
o Conducting surveys and interviews, making rapid/structured
observations, and helping to facilitate focused groups.
Qualifications and Experience:
o Excellent oral and written communication skills in English,
Swahili, and a native language of the preferred county.
o Ability to collect data through surveys, observations, and
interviews.
o Comfortable making presentations to large groups of people
o Ability to work independently and as part of a team
o Organized and efficient, with excellent attention to detail
o A positive attitude and flexibility with changing circumstances
o College diploma or university degree in social sciences, health,
development studies, Business Administration, or another applicable course
o Previous experience in humanitarian organization with similar
scope of work will be considered an asset;
o Good in using Microsoft office applications- word, excel,
publisher and PowerPoint.
o Must be able to meet tight deadlines
o Able to work long hours
o Ability to conduct field visits timely
