·         Establish, maintain and coordinate the implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures.
·         Analyze and review budgets and expenditure for the society.
·         Analyze revenue and expenditure trends and recommend appropriate budget levels, and ensure expenditure control.
·         Monitor and review accounting and related system reports for accuracy and completeness.
·         Prepare and review budget, revenue, expense, payroll entries, invoices and other accounting documents.
·         Explain billing invoices and accounting policies to staff, vendors and clients
·         Resolve accounting discrepancies.
·         Recommend, develop and maintain financial data bases, computer software systems and manual filing systems.
·         Supervise the input and handling of financial data and reports for the Society’s automated financial systems.
·         Interact with internal and external auditors in completing audits
·         Prepare the financial statements and determine if the Society is making profit or not.
·         Check and confirm all reconciliations i.e bank, creditors, debtors, POS, ATM, Msacco pay bill etc.
·         Verify and confirm correctness of trial balance.
·         Authorize all journal entries
·         Checking and authorization of all payments of loans, refunds and withdrawals.
·         Approve payments, postings for loans, refunds and withdrawals.
·         Receipt all monthly standing orders
·         Update the asset register
·         Preparation of payroll
·         Any other duties as assigned

Qualifications

·         Bachelor degree in Commerce management
·         CPA(K) registered with ICPAK
·         3 years’ experience
·         Knowledge in any accounting packages
·         3 years working experience in reputable Sacco firm.
·         Should be able to meet deadlines
·         Age 28 to 40 years old
