Assure appropriate and required levels of approval are obtained
for all actions.

Assures Food Production is IAW NAVSUP P-486 & prescribed
recipes and ‘Taste Test” menu items prior to the meal service

Meals & Special Events within the facility.

Constant attention must be paid to Safe Work Practices,
immediately addressing any unsafe acts witnessed

Check all food production equipment for safe and proper operation.

preferred

Must be fluent in English
·
Must possess passport book (not passport card) with at least 12
months of remaining validity AND with at least 4 blank visa/stamp pages
remaining

Must possess driver’s license with at least 6 months of remaining
validity

How to Apply
Food Service Worker
Will be performing a variety of tasks within the food service
kitchen and dining areas. Responsible for setting up, serving, replenishing and
breaking down of serving lines, beverage refrigerators, and juice dispensers.
Prepare dining and serving areas by setting up counters, stands, and tables.
Place food containers in serving order, fill salt and pepper shakers, replace
linen on tables and restock plates and silverware. Perform duties, cleaning and
working, in scullery operations (machine and manual washing). Will be
responsible for cleaning, but not limited to, the kitchen area, floors,
equipment, walls, light fixtures, or any other general kitchen cleaning
required. Properly store cleaned items and cleaning materials. Collect, scrape,
and soak soiled dishes. Properly dispose of food waste in garbage disposal or
trash receptacles.
Responsible for picking up and properly storing non-food items,
cleaning solutions, paper products, and perimeter cleaning functions.
Responsible for sanitation, cleanliness and ensuring the Galley is visually
appealing and orderly.
Will be required to prepare salads and salad bar items, serve main
course, speed line items, meats, vegetables, starches, and short order items
during the daily serving hours. Washes and sorts dishes, glassware, and
silverware. Cleans and sanitizes kitchen equipment, pots and pans, counters,
and tables. Sweeps and mops floors.

in food service

Ability to read, write, understand and speak clearly in English
·
Able to understand verbal and written instructions and communicate
the instructions to others

Responsibilities

Responsible for direct supervision/training of subcontractor
personnel.
·
Participates in Hot and Cold Food Production,

Recipe Compliance and assures adherence to Food
Production/Service/Sanitation Standards.

Reports to the Food Service Supervisors and the Galley Managers.
·
May assume responsibility of the Supervisor in their absence. Will
provide direct “hands on” operational oversight for, but not limited to,
preparation of menu items according to recipes and other tasks for the kitchen

correcting deficiencies as noted.

Qualifications
·
Must be have 4 Hour Navy safety and Sanitation Training
·
Must have 3 years Food Service and/or Cook experience
·
Must Have Computer and Communication skills.
·
Must have a food service medical screening and be “Fit for Duty”.
·
Must be able to lift 30 pounds.
·
Culinary or Military Dining Facility background helpful but not
required.
·
Must have High school diploma/GED with 2+ years food service
experience
·
Must have previous experience in overseeing employees.
