The main aim of the internship is to
give the interns an opportunity to experience and work in the real corporate
environment.
Roles
·
Receive invoices from suppliers and
confirm the same have been posted on iSupplier Portal.
·
Posting and verification of invoices.
·
Timely preparation of payments for
approval.
·
Reconciliation of supplier statements
with GL.
·
Daily validation of invoices posted
on iSupplier and initiating them for approval.
·
Any other tasks assigned.
Requirements
·
Applicant MUST be aN on-going
Bachelor’s degree student in Finance, Accounting, or any business related
course;
·
Must have professional accounting
qualifications CPA Part II or ACCA;
·
Have proven interpersonal skills;
·
Excellent communication and written
skills;
·
Good organizational skills;
·
Knowledge of MS office packages (MS
Excel & Word).

Senior Property Officer
Reporting to the Senior Manager,
Infrastructure & Property Management the position holder will process
leases and electricity payments to landlords and Kenya Power for all Safaricom
sites (MSR, BTS, Fibre & NPS), and manage sites leases and electricity
accounts database. This role will also be responsible for managing landlord
relations and resolve site access issues.
Roles
·
Process site lease/licence payments
to landlords for all assigned sites (MSR, BTS, Fibre & NPS) within agreed
SLA and time.
·
Liaise with Regional Teams to
consolidate and verify meter readings and submit the same to Kenya Power within
agreed time for billing.
·
Ensure Kenya Power and site landlords
bill/invoice for power consumed on all assigned sites for payment.
·
Process site electricity power
payments to Kenya Power and landlords for all assigned sites within agreed SLA
and time.
·
Reconcile and process all VAT
payments within agreed SLA and time.
·
Manage accurate and comprehensive
database & documentation/records of all assigned site leases and
electricity power payments.
·
Manage landlord relations through
courteous and timely communication/engagement with the landlords as per our
company core values.
·
Resolve all property lease and power
payments related issues such as site access within agreed SLA and time.
·
Prepare and submit weekly site
lease/licence management and power payments reports within agreed time.
Requirements
·
Degree in property or financial/business
related courses
·
3 years’ experience preferably in
Operations/Administration section/department/division
·
Knowledge of network infrastructure
and their correlations with business services such as billing services.
·
Good understanding of financial systems/operations
·
Project management qualification is
an added advantage.

Fixed Assets Accountant Contractor
We are pleased to announce the
following Contract Opportunity in Finance Operations within the Finance
Division. In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a
person who meets the criteria indicated below.
Reporting to the Senior Manager –
Fixed Assets and Inventory, the position holder will assist manage the company
owned and leased assets (tangible and intangible) while helping the team remain
productive and efficient in execution of day to day roles.
Roles
·
Reconcile fixed assets register to
the general ledger on a monthly basis breaking down major categories of assets
into cost, depreciation and net book value.
·
Analyze additions from project
costing ledger and classify them into main asset categories on a monthly basis.
Maintain proper trail of supporting documents for additions to fixed assets
·
Before month end, liaise with
implementation departments to ensure that all assets put in use in the month
especially network infrastructure elements are accounted for under additions
for the month.
·
Review POs on a monthly basis to
ensure that any commitments made in respect to assets which have not yet been
receipted are accounted for in the correct accounting period especially items
relating to CWIP
·
Review disposals on a monthly basis
and ensure the same are in line with company policy and fully analyzed and
properly accounted for.
·
Compute monthly depreciation per
asset and per group of assets and ensure that it is properly accounted for.
·
Perform a global check for
depreciation charge per assets category to ensure reasonableness.
·
On a monthly basis, analyze assets
into the main categories required for reporting purposes in the reporting
templates.
·
Age the CWIP on a monthly basis
depending on the age of the PO to ensure that no items remain therein for more
than the set project timelines.
·
Review decommissioned sites and
document justification. Ensure that accounting for decommissioned sites is in
line with the company policies and comply with IAS on retirement of assets.
·
On a quarterly basis, liaise with RNP
to ascertain the need for or otherwise of network infrastructure elements. Make
necessary provisions for any elements targeted for retirement
Requirements

Degree in Business Related field
·
CPA (K)
·
Overall a minimum of 6 months hands
on experience in accounting .
·
Knowledge on implementation of IAS
