Our client, an online, local and
county-level newspaper tailored for the mobile web is looking to hire a Newsroom Manager who will be responsible for recruiting new
sub-editors, maintain staff schedules and create feature requests for editorial
process.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Experience in writing performance reports and
designing promotion systems.
- The ability to recruit new sub-editors, keep
database of applicants, set trials and negotiate terms.
- Experience in maintaining/enforcing staff
schedules.
- Experience in reading/recording data.
- The ability to come up with creative feature
requests to optimize the editorial process (e.g. schedule trainings with
experts, build the Academy)
- The ability to develop strategies to obtain
more news story submissions (target influencers in the counties )
Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree in Mass Communication or any
related course
- Minimum of 3 years concrete experience
directly managing a team of over 10 staff.
- Should have accuracy and attention to detail
- Great leadership skills, very organized,
strict, excellent long-term planning skills and a good speaker.
- Good general knowledge of online content and
content creation.
- Tech savvy.
- Active on social media
