Vacancy: Research & Development Officer

Job Purpose Summary:
 The incumbent should work towards the introduction, innovation, and improvement of products and processes within the company.

Core Job Responsibilities:
 
 
Product research and development

  • Working knowledge in conducting a thorough study to support in-house productions. The research phase includes determining production specifications, production costs and production time line.
  • Come up with new production designs based on the requirements and ideas created during the research phase.
  • Evaluate the production services offered by the company to ensure they are still functional, identify potential changes or upgrades and make recommendations where needed.
  • Continuous research on social media effectiveness and give recommendations where appropriate to assist the company advertise its products to a wider audience.
  • Designing research methods and materials, sampling, conducting literature searches, conducting interviews, analyzing qualitative and quantitative data, contributing to reports and presentations for production.
  • Fulfil a range of research administration tasks including; organizing fieldwork, booking interviews and focus groups, preparing reports, maintain accurate records of experiments and investigations, data inputting and supporting general production administration.
  • Engage different audiences for the different products to be created and provide feedback that is beneficial in both pre and post developmental phases.
  • To aid the company in staying competitive with others in the industry by researching and analyzing the production other businesses are creating, as well as the new trends within the industry. This research will guide the department in developing and updating the productions created by the company.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree in any field from a recognized University.
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar position.
  • Excellent computer skills including data input and analysis packages – SPSS, STATA
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and PowerPoint and advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self motivated to learn new concepts and participate in new projects.
