The Centre for Maternal and Newborn
Health at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM) is an active
academic unit seeking to improve maternal and newborn health globally.
One of our key programmes is the Making it Happen Programme, supported by UK Aid. The aim of the programme is to reduce maternal and newborn mortality and morbidity by increasing availability and improving the quality of Skilled Birth Attendance (SBA) and Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care (EmONC).
The key interventions are EmONC
trainings, Making It Happen with Data workshops, Quality Improvement workshops
and Monitoring & Evaluation.

LSTM Kenya are seeking to appoint a qualified Senior Finance Officer / Accountant, who will support the Senior Technical Officer to ensure robust management systems and Standard Operating Procedures are in place and implemented across LSTM’s Kenya office, within finance, programme and office management.
A minimum of 5 years professional and progressively responsible experience in finance, administration, budget, business administration or related area, in a multinational or nongovernmental organisation will be essential.

the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya and full professional
accounting qualification: CPA(K), ACCA, ACA will be essential.
Experience of effective staff management is an essential requirement of the role, as you have direct supervision of the LSTM Kenya finance and administration team.

Exceptional work prioritisation and
organisational skills are essential as is a working knowledge of Quickbooks
accounting software and Microsoft Applications.
You will require excellent

advising a variety of different people on finance related issues.
You will be required to provide
guidance and training to the LSTM Kenya programme staff on budgetary and
financial policies and procedures.
