The main role of this position is to
oversee management of agencies in compound I in Kakuma, ensuring that generators
are serviced and fuel use is monitored.
- Logistical management of compound
premises:
- Supervise maintenance and repairs of premises;
- Ensure there is a good level of cooperation
between the compound management and the program team.
- Ensure that logistics fuel use and
spares usage procedures are strictly adhered to as per the LWF standards.
- Responsible for generator management,
co-ordinate generator management reporting on monthly basis.
- Ensure proper accounting of the Generator and
fuel usage and spare parts.
- Prepares weekly/monthly Generator usage
records- fuel records, spares, monitors utilization, maintenance and fuel
consumption;
- Manage compound related budgets and ensure
proper spending at all times.
- Carries out monthly physical verifications of
inventory related to generator usage within the compound
- Work with compound staff to ensure that
facilities are properly maintained.
Minimum Qualifications
- A University degree or Diploma in logistics/
Supply chain Management / Mechanics or a related field.
- Experience in logistics for the support
of humanitarian and recovery contexts, as well as development programmes.
- Work experience: 2 years professional
experience in a logistics or supply function, preferably in an NGO
- Good Computer skills: Internet, Email,Very
good knowledge in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Understanding of budget development and
monitoring is an added advantage
Job Title: Accountant – Compound Management

Duties and Responsibilities
- Payment of incentives and casual wages on a
monthly basis.
- Maintain Petty cash book (daily basis) and
mark “Posted” in the voucher after entry in ACCPAC compatible spread
sheet.
- Maintain the Incentive cash book and mark
“Posted” in the voucher after entry in ACCPAC compatible spread sheet.
- Reconciliations of balance sheet account
(debtors, creditors and others as decided by team).
- Proper filling of petty cash & incentives/
mark ‘Paid” after payment. Stick clear identification label on each
folder.
- Writing of cheques and remittance advices,
ensuring that all relevant documents are attached and duly approved.
- Disbursement of cheques and maintain cheque
issued register.
- Custody of cheques and bank payments.
- Cash withdrawals from the bank.
- Tracking of multi installments cash payments.
- Tracking of multi installments bank payments
- Take back up every day of Excel cash, bank
book & JV before close down computer and store out of premise.
- Initiate to maintain professional look of
finance room and filing system. Priorities always to maintain finance room
tidy.
- Update travel expenses & per diem into
monitoring report on monthly basis.
- Under take any other tasks delegated by
Finance Officer.
Minimum Qualifications
- A University degree in Finance or Accounting
from a recognized institution plus a professional accounting qualification
( CPA (K), ACCA or equivalent)
- Good knowledge of computer applications in
accounting is essential
- Work experience: 2 years professional
experience preferably in an INGO
- Understanding of budget development and
monitoring
