Job Purpose: Our client in the service / hospitality industry is looking to hire a well experienced Revenue Manager. The purpose of the role is to work with the Front Office Manager in order to ensure that maximum benefit is obtained from the hotel

Main Duties
  • To ensure that all Electronic Distribution Systems are up to date at all times in order to maximize distribution and accommodation yield.
  • To ensure that close out and free sale charts are up to date in order to gain maximum effect
  • To carry out regular cross training between the Reservations and Sales team to ensure that everyone within the department is able to deal with all clients calls efficiently
  • To ensure that all target market segments are developed for the long-term benefit of the hotel’s business
  • To monitor in statistical format, the pick-up patterns, lead times and business trends
  • To work with the team to promote internal sales and the up selling of all facilities
  • To ensure that the Daily Selling Strategy is completed and checked before the morning meeting
  • Ensure all daily, weekly and monthly revenue management reports are up to date and are completed in accordance with standardized company procedures
  • Carry out ongoing refresher reservations training for all front office, and revenue staff on a regular basis, which is based around the effective implementation of the room’s management strategy
  • Ensure that regular departmental meetings are planned, take place, and are minuted to ensure follow through
  • Carry out regular team building events for the team to build on their individual strengths and ultimately on the teams strengths as a whole
  • As part of the Business planning process, draw up a training plan for the department and implement along with scheduled team building activities for both the Revenue and House Departments
  • Prepare the annual room statistics and assist in other sections on the Business Plan production
  • To host weekly Revenue Strategy Meetings in order to communicate strategy and develop corrective action for dip dates
  • To be fully involved in the production of the business mix reports for the weekly rooms meeting, the monthly business meeting and the annual budgeting meetings
  • Carry out regular Departmental meetings with your team to discuss and resolve any issues that may arise
  • To participate fully in any training identified as beneficial to you and your role
  • To undertake any other reasonable task or responsibility as required by your line manager or member of senior management in order to meet our business needs
  • Determines daily pricing to maximize revenues which are aligned with the overall objectives of the hotel
  • Analyzes the external marketplace, customer demand and competitor offerings to ensure proper price competitiveness within the hotel market and competitive set
  • Evaluates channel and intermediary opportunities in line with segmentation goals and in compliance with corporate guidelines
  • Develops guidelines for managing hotel’s inventory and pricing strategies to maximize the revenue received from each segment and channel
  • Seeks opportunities to improve results by utilizing the various revenue optimization tools and programs
  • Communicates rate and space availability to the hotel sales, reservations and management team
  • Partners with sales team on contracted, group and negotiated transient revenue generation and ensures alignment with overall pricing and promotional activity
  • Develops guidelines for and manages hotel’s overall revenue strategy including guestrooms, meeting space, catering and food and beverage revenues in cooperation with other departments of the hotel
  • Assists with the hotel budget process and budget input in cooperation with the General Manager, the Financial Controller and the Head of Sales
  • Prepares and distributes accurate revenue forecasts for the General Manager and the Head of Sales
  • Monitors hotel segmentation performance relative to plan and recommends action where needed to ensure goals are met or exceeded

Skills Requirements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications
  • Must be Self-motivated and hardworking
  • Must be a social persona and a team player
  • Must have detailed problem solving approach to work, have a positive attitude towards work,
  • Should have good communication skills (written & verbal), assertive and decisive.
  • Must be flexible to change

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business
  • Experience in Sales and Marketing and revenue streams
  • Experience coming up with pricing strategies
  • Over 5 years experience in sales administration in a senior post
