Assistant
The Job
Reporting
to the Finance Manager and working in a team environment the position plays a
key role in ensuring that the department effectively carries out its financial
functions and objectives including internal controls.
- Preparing monthly bank reconciliations.
- Maintaining and updating Cash Books.
- Posting of supplier invoices.
- Accounts payable reconciliations.
- Preparing monthly VAT returns.
- Filing of accounting documents.
- Participate and carrying out stock taking on regular basis and reconciling physical stocks and records.
- Undertake any other function as may be assigned from time to time.
Desired Competences / Qualifications
- Minimum CPA 2
- At least 1year experience in a busy finance department
- Proficiency in use of Microsoft applications especially Excel
- Proven knowledge in use of a good accounting software although experience with the use of Sage Pastel will be a good advantage
- Strong knowledge in IT skills would also be desired.
- Self driven, analytical, result oriented with good organizational skills.
- Good team player
- Good reporting skills
- Must be able to work with minimum supervision.
- Willing to reside in a rural setup.
