Our client, Concern Worldwide, is looking to recruit a Health
& Nutrition Programme Manager to provide the
overall coordination and managerial support to the program including strong
conceptual, programmatic direction and technical support to the program team as
per annual plan and USAID guidelines.
- Guide
the development of programme work plans in coordination with the project
teams.
- Liase
at the local and county level with DHMT, Marsabit Country Officials, and
Health Facility Management Teams to enhance coordinatrion and
collaboration in program implementation and sustainability.
- Implement
advocacy activities directed at the County level
- Provide
technical support to the operations research, and coordinate with the
Johns Hopkins University and MoPHS ethical and scientific research
committees and research implementing teams.
- Assist
the Health and Nutrition Coordinator in advocacy to inform policy makers
and asssit in policy review based on program learning and field based
evidence.
- Contribute
to and maintain strong links with other programme managers to reinforce a
strong programme approach and other health actors; HF, WVI, APHIA+, AMREF
etc based in Marsabit to reinforce a strong programme approach.
- Provide
technical leadership in the implementation of integrated maternal child
health and nutrition services.
- Guide
programme and government teams in the decentralization of service delivery
under the County structures.
- As
part of decentralization, technically guide the roll out of the Community
Strategy.
- Directly
manage the ASAL health and nutrition projects.
- Provide
leadership and technical guidance for emergency response programming and
approaches.
- In
partnership with the Districts Project Manager, Assistant District Project
Manager and project officers in both Marsabit central and Moyale will be
responsible for capacity building of MoPHS and partner agency staff
members.
- Ensures
adequate reporting, monitoring and evaluation, and documentation of
lessons learned.
- Monitor
the programme against objectives outlined in the programme plan.
- Participate
in design and implementation of assessments and evaluations.
- Prepare
high quality written reports for Concern and donors (quarterly and annual)
and other reports as required.
- Conduct
field visits to support field teams on effective and quality program
implementation.
- ttend
dstirct level coordination with other stakeholders.
- With
in the DHMT of the project implementation districts.
- Maintain
good working relationships and co-ordination with other health partners.
- Provide
leadership and technical guidance for emergency response programming and
approaches.
- Participate
and contribute as necessary towards Concern's Emergency response.
- Comply
with Concern's heath, safey and security guidelines during emergencies.
Requirements
- Masters
in Public Health.
- Excellent
networking and coordination skills with both local and other interantioanl
NGOS, BOCs, UN and overnment agencies.
- Excellent
interpersonal sklils and demonstrated ability to lead and work effectively
in teams.
Experience
- Atleast
3 years experience in Maternal and Child Health and Nutrition programming
in both a delopment and emergency context.
- Two
years experience in a managerial position.
- Technical
knowledge and experience in maternal and child health and
