leading wildlife management and conservation organization situated in the
remote parts of Laikipia county in Kenya is seeking the following high caliber,

Reporting to the Chief Finance Officer (CFO), the Project Accountant will primarily be responsible for the company’s project accounting on it real estate development program and assist the Company in reporting on its donor funds, third party funds and ensuring all funds on projects are tracked and accounted for in accordance with the underlying agreements and company policies.
Duties and responsibilities
- Assisting
to set up systems to manage financial transactions including grant
administration and reporting,
- Generating
accurate, reliable periodic and ad-hoc financial reports within the agreed
timelines.
- Assisting
the CFO to generate realistic fundraising targets as part of the budgeting
process and overseeing the implementation of that budget
- Assisting
with the annual budgeting and performance monitoring and providing timely
progress reports
- Provide
ongoing support and technical assistance to the CFO on financial matters
Job requirements
- Should
be a graduate in Commerce – Accounting option
- Five
years of experience, at a minimum, in accounting and finance in some or
all of the following settings: not-for-profit, social development, for
profit business operations in tourism and agriculture in general and
specifically dealing with project/donor funds
- Budgetary
responsibility in an international environment is highly desirable
- Previous
experience in the financial monitoring of capital projects
- Previous
experience in the financial monitoring of grant funded projects
- A
close understanding of Kenya tax law and statutory reporting requirements
- Competence
and demonstrated experience in the use of computerized systems, including
financial software applications preferably (SunSystems, latest version
INFOR 10) is essential
- Strong
interpersonal skills, attention to detail, application of strong financial
rigor, discretion and high integrity are imperative
- Ability
to work with little or no supervision

Job requirements

to work in a team and cope with work pressure;
- Strong
analytical with excellent planning and execution skills;
