KCB Procurement Buyer Job in Kenya

The Position

Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the position will be responsible in the delivery of agreed objectives in line with the procurement strategy and will provide support in projects intended to transform the Banks property, facilities and equipment category.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide commercial advice on, and authorization of, contracts, purchase commitments and expenditure made throughout the bank.

  • Implementing the category strategy including sourcing activities which generate benefits and achieve value.
  • Use leading practice procurement tools to develop and implement the sourcing strategies.
  • Provide support in the negotiation of contractual agreements with suppliers to ensure that service, quality, added value, lowest total cost, security of supply and the deployment of the supplier’s capabilities in innovation are secured.
  • To ensure that internal customer and supplier relationships are maintained well for the procurement category to deliver breakthrough performance in cost, service and quality.
  • Support the procurement manager to maximize the use of the bank’s funds by identifying best practice and leveraging spend within and outside the bank for the procurement category including monitoring available framework agreements.
  • Prepare and maintain appropriate reports and provide administrative support
The Person

For the above position, the successful applicant should have:-
  • University Degree from a recognized institution. Possession of a postgraduate degree or professional qualification in a related field will be an added advantage.
  • Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply or equivalent or working towards membership.
  • 2-3 years Experience of working in a procurement category in an organization that has cross functional and business boundaries and with significant exposure to supplier performance management.
  • Experience in developing positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Excellent negotiating and influencing skills, at all levels
