Finance Manager Job in Kenya

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer the Finance Manager will be responsible for, but not limited to the following responsibilities;

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Preparation of monthly, quarterly, half yearly and annual financial reports
  • Providing an interpretation of financial information
  • Monitoring cash flows and using the same to predict future financial trends
  • Formulating strategies to be used in the long-term financial plans for a business entity
  • Formulating strategic and long-term business plans in conjunction with the Chief Executive Officer.

  • Developing management mechanism in the finances department for purposes of minimizing the financial risks
  • Reviewing and evaluating cost reduction opportunities open to the firm
  • Managing the accounting and monitoring systems for the company's finances
  • Working with auditors, both internal and external
  • Developing good working relationships with professionals such as bankers, auditors or statutory organizations for the benefit of the firm
  • Managing the firm's budgets
  • Making contacts and looking for new sources who can finance the firm's debt facilities
  • Review collection reports to determine the status of collections and the amounts of outstanding balances (Accounts receivables management)
  • Managing a successful balance of Debtors vs Creditor days.
  • Communicate with shareholders, directors and other investors to provide information, and to raise capital.
  • Prepare financial and regulatory reports required by laws, regulations, and boards of directors and ensuring compliance.
  • Establish procedures for custody and control of assets, records, loan collateral, and securities, in order to ensure safekeeping.
  • Handling all tax matters
  • Payroll processing and payment.
  • In charge of facilities and procurement.
Education and Qualifications
  • A first degree from a recognized University
  • Professional qualification such as CPA (K), ACCA, CA,
  • MBA an added advantage
  • Working Knowledge of accounting packages such as Quickbooks, Tally etc.
