Accountant Job Vacancy in Nairobi - Construction Company

A leading Construction Company based in Nairobi invites qualified applications to fill the above position.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Accountant should be able to carry out the following responsibilities:

Primary Responsibilities
  • Prepare monthly management accounts.
  • Compile and post accounting vouchers.
  • Preparation and timely submission of all statutory returns (PAYE, NHIF, NSSF).

  • Payroll administration in liaison with the HR department.
  • Monitor and review accounting and related system reports for accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare and review budget, revenue, expense, payroll entries, invoices, and other accounting documents.
  • Analyze revenue and expenditure trends and recommend appropriate budget levels, and ensure expenditure control.
  • Interact with internal and external auditors.
  • Monitor stock movement.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, ACCA or CPA (K) Certification.
  • Knowledge of Finance, Management Accounts, Audited Accounts, Budgeting, Stocks and Internal Checks and Cost Control Principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Knowledge of SAGE, Excel and other financial and accounting software applications.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections.
  • Ability to liaise with Government bodies and other external agencies.
  • At least 4 (four) years of relevant work experience in a busy commercial and/or manufacturing industry.
