As such, we seek to recruit customer focused and performance-oriented individuals with strong leadership skills to fill the vacant positions listed below.
Reporting to the Assistant General Manager, Credit Risk, the purpose of this role will be to manage the Credit Administration department that maintains quality of the lending portfolio as well as maintaining safe custody of security documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Effectiveness of the department structure and application of established systems (policies, process, procedures & tools) in achieving compliance requirements, optimal efficiency, resource utilisation and cost containment.
  • Quality of lending portfolio through management and monitoring of documentation compliance, disbursements, static data on customer facilities, classification etc in support of business strategy.
  • Quality of security documentation on secured loans and advances.
  • Safe custody of securities and regular review of completeness and enforceability.
  • Quality of leadership experienced throughout the department and how effectively that translates into conducive work environment and employee satisfaction.
  • Adequacy of personal and staff competence to effectively achieve the department’s objectives.
Main Activities
  • Implement credit administration controls, systems and processes in order to minimize loss to the Bank at disbursements or through revenue leakage.
  • Facilitate the extension of credit in strict adherence to set bank’s credit policies and prudential guidelines.
  • Maintain credit risk strategies to ensure conditions precedent are fulfilled and security documentation is complete before disbursement of facilities.
  • Maintain appropriate MIS to track key covenants and terms and conditions of approval.
  • Custodian of security documents and responsible on the adequacy/completeness of the same.
Competence Requirements
  • Knowledge and experience in modern credit administration practices in financial services industry to provide visionary guidance on improvements and/or changes.
  • Technical skills to effectively perform or guide performance of Credit administration activities/tasks in a manner that consistently produce high quality of service.
  • Knowledge and effective application of all relevant banking policies, processes, procedures, prudential guidelines and guidance to consistently achieve required compliance standards or benchmarks
  • Leadership to nurture and sustain employee satisfactory, and to manage changes.
  • Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with and manage customer expectations (internal and external), and other stakeholders who impact performance.
Qualification and Experience Requirements
  • University degree
  • 6 years banking experience, 3 of which should be in Credit Risk Operations or Credit Risk Management.
  • At least 2 years in a management position supervising a team.
  • Knowledge of lending products and prudential guidelines.
